Top of 4th: Johnson singles thru the hole to LF. Heivilin lines out to 3B, Johnson caught off the bag at 1B, 2 down. Giles flies out. No damage again by BAMA.
Bottom of 4th: Ground out to 3B, 1 down. Fly out to the wall in LF, 2 down. Single up the middle, 1 on. Ground ball off the glove of Riley, ball in no man's land, safe at first. Runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 down. Fly out to CF, inning over. VT has left 6 on in the last three innings. That's a good thing. No score after 4 complete.
Top of 5th: BAMA needs to get the bats going. Hawkins singles thru the left side. Ellestad lays down a perfect bunt, safe at first. Runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs for BAMA. Hubbard lines out softly to CF who was playing in, 1 down. Duchsherer walks, bases loaded for BAMA, 1 down. Pate runs for Duchsherer. Preuitt flies out to short LF, 2 down. Vandagriff walks on 4 pitches, run scores. 1-0 BAMA. Johnson sends short fly ball to LF, left-fielder slips on the wet grass and ball drops in. Should have been an out but 2 more runs score. 3-0 BAMA. Heivilin flies out to RF, inning over. BAMA scores 3 to take a 3-0 lead.
Bottom of 5th: Line out to Preuitt in RF, 1 down. Pop out to SS, 2 down. K looking, 3 down. Riley gets them 1/2/3. 3-0 BAMA after 5 complete.
Top of 6th: Giles fouls out to 1B, 1 down. Hawkins grounds out to 3B, 2 down. Ellestad flies out to LF, inning over. VT pitcher only threw 6 pitches this inning. Still 3-0 BAMA.
Bottom of 6th: Ground ball up the middle, Heivilin snags it but no throw. 1 on, no outs. Pop out to SS, 1 down. Line out to Duchsherer at 1st, tags the runner out, 3 down. After 6 complete, it's still 3-0 BAMA. I would not complain about a couple of insurance runs in the top of the 7th.
Top of 7th: Hubbard doubles down the LF line. Duchsherer K's, 1 down. Preuitt K's on a ball outside and in the dirt, 2 down. Vandagriff walks on 4 pitches, 2 on for BAMA, 2 down. Johnson flies out to RF. It's a bit sad to get a lead off double and not be able to move the runner at all. 3-0 BAMA going to the bottom of the 7th. Let's finish this one.
Bottom of 7th: Ground out to 1st, 1 down. Sharp line drive off of Riley's leg, safe at first. 2-run HR to left field on an 0-2 count. Now 3-2 BAMA. National home run leader coming to the plate. Briski coming in to pitch for Riley. And she K's the home run leader! 2 down. Pop up to the catcher, 3 down. BAMA wins 3-2, and is headed to Norman, Oklahoma. Who knows what might happen from here. BAMA wins the Tuscaloosa Regional.
If I'm correct, this will be BAMA's 19th Super Regional. They are doing a good job of finding ways to win right now, and I hope it continues. We took 2 of 3 from OU not long ago so we're definitely not going to sneak up on them. Let's hope we can continue finding ways to win.

Is that worse than baseball getting swept by Missouri, who went 0-27 against the rest of the SEC.
haha, both are bad but I would say yes. This is historical. Every #1 seed up to this point has made it out of the regionals until this past weekend. And, they were put out by a "mid major" program too. I liken this to a 1 losing to a 16 in the NCAAT.
