If the offense is already a step ahead, we're in for some ridiculous numbers this year... The defense will always be in a good position, and as the above poster said... If the DB's can cover our WR's, they'll be able to cover any...

It's just ridiculous that our receiver corps can push the two Jones kids and Hart to defense...
That cooper juke move is ridiculous. I really only remembered it against uga and notre dame but Rewatching the games he was doing it all season. No on managed to not look like an idiot defending it.

Since the offense did so well according to CNS's released stats, should we be freaking out that the defense isn't going to be good? 
In regards to Blake Sims, I want him to do well. I'm one of the posters that has continued to say he is our #2 and can do a fine job if AJ goes down. However, I'm beginning to think otherwise. We've not seen him throw the ball often. The coaches tell media members (or at least the media says they do) how excited they are about Blake, yet we don't see him in any packages.

But the top two receivers had five catches for 250yds. Gotta hold the ball a little bit throwing deep.
The kid has plenty of time to develop I wouldn't worry too much. Hopefully we don't have to see him next year anyway.
The high school level from around him is not that great and he did not have the best senior year(granted he played on a bad bad team). He is more raw than people think. I am thinking either Luke del Rio or Alec Morris will be next in line after AJ and B Sims.
But who knows, and that is what spring ball is about and why it is exciting.
It was unfortunate when White went down because he was starting to have it come together. Bell, Black, Cooper, Ch. Jones, Norwood, and White is a pretty legitimate 6-deep rotation. I figure most coaches go into a game wanting 6 receivers ready to play. We have 5 who have legitimate experience and one other who is as talented as the other 5.
Looks like this receiver corp could rotate enough to continually streak down the field and keep opposing corners and safety's on their heels and wheezing for O2. Such a threat should also put most the run stopping pressure on the opposing Dline and LB's--sets up high yards per carry stats. Ima hoping anyways.
Being a back up QB is a tough spot. It's hard to get them any kind of playing time, unless it's mop up. At that point of the game, you usually don't throw much. At other positions, you can rotate kids a bit.
Cannot help but be worried about the defensive backfield. I expect a big day out of Cooper, but with a guy not even eight months recovered from a torn ACL torching them like a marshmellow left overnight in an incinerator -- I know White's a talented kid, but still -- it's a bit hard to do a Kool-Aid keg stand.
Obviously we've got a long way until September, but by the same token it seems like we've got a lot of progress to make to field a formidable secondary. Hopefully Cyrus Jones can really step up quickly, because it doesn't look like Sylve and Washington are ready, even after a couple of years of seasoning. I kind of get the feeling that the first-unit at cornerback -- Fulton, Belue, and Smith -- may be sufficient, even if not particularly strong, but the depth situation is looking downright ugly.

Just like any true freshman..His head is swimming trying to compute "The Process"..Instead of reacting naturally to plays..True freshmen think instead of reacting..Thus slowing their play down..Give 'em time..Once the light pops on..We'll see exactly why Coach Saban recruited him..
agree. The CB depth scares me a lot. Belue and Fulton being our two best CBs with enough experience is not quite comforting...
Call me what you want, but I'm always looking for a reason to be concerned in spring play. It's a bit curious to see the offense looking so well polished right now, so it sounds like you have identified my worry monster for the next several months. Thanks, BET.
