Spring Football - 2025

I agree not worried about TS deep ball, I'm sure he has one and it's adequate, we've all seen when a deep ball just about all you have, it has a few negative effects, one is it can keep your defense on the field too long, against good teams that's not good.

It is usually a good sign when a QB comes from a High School background where they actually led their team to a State Championship. We tend to forget that when looking at a player's overall development. Ty probably didn't peak in high school so there should be a pretty high ceiling for him at this point. It says a lot that he's bid his time waiting for his opportunity and he is taking advantage of it now when all the noise around the program has apparently settled down a little bit.
And he’s a coach’s son. I don’t care what anyone says, those type of players are just different.

More praise coming in for Jerimiah Beaman. I was really concerned about our interior DL depth but this is great news. With Keenan, Smith, Hill and Beaman we are looking good now.

Overton says Alabama DL Jeremiah Beaman is 'gonna be that guy'

We've needed a "that guy" for several years. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's been since Quinnen Williams since we've had a "that guy" on the DL. Having a "that guy" on the DL can change the entire complexion of a defense. Jalen Carter did that for UGA. The moment he left, their entire defense softened up.

Barmore was really good in 2020, but I agree, we haven’t had a huge disrupter since Q.

Yep, forgot about him. He was a good one as well. We went on a long, RARE stretch in the prime of Nick Saban's career where we had a string of dominant DT's one after another. To say we got spoiled is an understatement. Great DT's are one of the hardest to find in the recruiting process. There's just not many of them.

It’s exciting to hear about the young LB’s and DL. They are getting great experience this spring

We all worry about the QB and who will be starting but the key to winning it all this year will be the play of the o-line and d-line. The Eagles just won a Superbowl because they had the best o-line in football and their front seven on defense dominated that game with constant pressure. I realize we need to get solid play out of the QB but you can win it all with average QB play if the lines are really good.

You say that, but if Bryce Young had last year’s defense he would have two national titles and a Heisman.

Quarterback is the most important position, and it only becomes more important the higher in college you go.

We had Christian Barmore who was an early 2nd round pick who is doing really well in the NFL and Phil Mathis but neither to the degree of Williams or Allen but those guys don't grow on trees. Hoping Beaman and/or Hill changes that.

Wanted to congratulate you as the first Tide Fan I have seen mention winning a championship in 2025. I like it. But as optimistic as I am, I don't see it. This will be the first year this new regime really takes over for our latest legendary coach so we will see if it will be steady decline or if this program hits the next gear with CKD.

It is always so.
