Spring Practice Thread/News/Predictions

I used to hear that there are a couple of kinds of quarterbacks.
GAMERS become Saturday legends.
AND
PRACTICE QUARTERBACKS. Those were the guys who always looked great until they face a Defense that's hell bound to sack him. We don't want a QB that gets Rabbit in his feet when the Defense gets after him. I don't want a QB that I can count to 8 while he tries to decide what to do. (That was last year)
If Milroe becomes QB1. I hope CKD can teach him to quick release.
AND
The QB must read the Defense. THAT WINS GAMES.

Ok, glad they are working. Let me know when Milroe adjusts to defenses....can read a coverage....can see a blitz coming and check down to the hot receiver.

The kid has a cannon, he can throw bombs accurately all day long with no pressure.....we all know this.

How fast is he getting the ball out?

Thanks for posting the images.
When the defense knows he won't or can't throw the ball 15 yards downfield they back up their coverage to defend the long pass. The better teams were able to better cover the deep balls after a few games when they figured out to rush the passer and not let him have time to look downfield into coverage to prevent the deep ball.

What I'd rather hear about JM: He's nickel and "diming" his way down the field hitting backs out of the backfield, hitting slant routes and 10 yard out patterns, etc. These are the throws he's never been able to make consistently that are drive stoppers.

Again, the 20 yard checkdown is likely checking down from a bomb, which means that's what he was 1st looking at. Good for him he came off his first target to another one, but the main concern is him seeing/completing those 3rd down, tight window throws that keep the chains moving.

They're called practice players. I played HS baseball with what had to be one of the greatest practice players of all time. Absolutely a stud in practice yet sucked in games. Drilled homerun after homerun in practice, rarely missed a ball but then the lights of a real game would come on and Cinderella turned back into a peasant servant girl. There's a lot of them like that.

I left the A Day game last year impressed by Lonergan and Haynes. That’s just my assessment. I’m sure I’ll leave this years scrimmage impressed by someone else. I guess that’s what makes it fun to watch. RTR.
