That would seem the most logical conclusion, but doesn’t mesh with the binary debate that it was all one or the other that was completely at fault.

And Saban said the snapping wasn’t an issue in practice, and most acted like JM’s issues weren’t evident in practice … so maybe both struggle with the lights on and live bullets

If there had been a problem with Seth at practice, it would have been resolved one way or the other.
If JM had those issues, only those at the practices would know; after USF, for whatever reasons, Bama was sailing or sinking with JM at the wheel.
I’m inclined to agree that it was likely game-time heebie-jeebies that affected both of them more than is normal. I know maintaining focus and concentration with 100,000 screamers and a 300* lb DL waiting to rip your head off isn’t anything remotely easy to do; having said that, it’s job 1; no matter how good of a blocker/passer they are, if ball can’t go from one to the other cleanly and quickly, those talents become less important.
I’m betting Seth will see alignments that might be new to him; I’m certain DC’s will make him a focal point (I did say “a”, not “the”) early in the season to see if the rumors were true. Balls being snapped at the QB’s feet or three feet left, right or overhead are likely not “cadence” issues.

He was there with his son and daughter. I think his son may have been on a campus tour? I did read that his daughter was on crutches. I don't think he will be a coach for awhile, if ever again, until he deals with his personal health issues. I know he doesn't work for Kirby anymore, but knowing Kirby Smart, he'd probably send him to Bama to spy on the new coaching staff since he likes to copy everything Bama does.

What he’s having to live down is telling a recruiting helper to get a guy drunk.
 
I hear DBs Zabien Brown and Peyton Woodyard also turning heads at Practice.
Freshman, Red Morgan, has been rotating in with the ones. Malachi Moore says he's highly impressed with Red. DeVonta Smith said, “He is phenomenal. You are hearing this from me, Red is going to be a great player for us. I am thankful that he continued to stay in and stay put with us.” Coach Hitschler said. “For him to be out here as a freshman, playing with the ones, and earning it every day, he is fun to coach. He is elastic, he jumps through this roof every day, just love coaching him, his work ethic is special.”

Can't think of any area of the team where we need new guys to come in and excel as in the secondary we where we lost so many good players.

Well, they were replaced by good players, so the difference will be the experience that we lost.

It would be really cool if Downs were to surprise everyone and be back in Tuscaloosa before Summer... :cool:

Agree. But also need elite edge rushers. We'll see who ends up in the Bandit and Wolf hybrid positions. Other than Quandarrius Robinson, it's not clear yet.
I hear Domani has been making good plays.
