Not at my gate :conf2: Folks have had to throw away unopened water, etc.Hey do like us and bring your on drink and food as long as there not open you can go through the gates no questions asked.
Ticket $5 Hot Dog = 50 Cents and Coke = 10 cents ? Close? That goes back to the fall of 1957.
Well they did spend 2.1 million dollars on a building to get rid of two bars, not to mention raising tuition. I mean they have to exploit that money from someone!!!!$6.00 Cokes -- The University White Collars have absolutely lost their minds...
And
What's with not having the JumboTron on the Quad this year...?!?
The University said that it was due to "financial constraints" -- this coming from an athletic program that had a +30 million NET profit last year,
Removing the JumoboTron from The Quad -- That's pretty cheap IMHO
** Instead of a JumboTron the University has gotten a little greedy -- they zoned a few more reserved tailgating locations there **
:mad2:
Kids used to actually pick on the fat kids back then. Now they'll get beat up by the other 10 in hearing distance. The average male freshman's body weight was probably thirty pounds below what it is now.
I just spit my tea on my laptop.Kids used to actually pick on the fat kids back then. Now they'll get beat up by the other 10 in hearing distance.
Any kid depending on fat to help him beat somebody up is making a bad miscalculation....Kids used to actually pick on the fat kids back then. Now they'll get beat up by the other 10 in hearing distance.
It's worse than Disney or any other theme park for that matter.Wow! Having lived all over the world, I've never managed to get to a game at BD, but it sounds like it's getting as bad as Disneyland.
I think we're paying 6 bucks for churros now! :eek2:
My son gets teased for being too skinny though, exact same weight I was at that juncture. How times have changed.I just spit my tea on my laptop.
The prices will never come down, I think that is wishful thinking. People don't have to buy the food, but it is hard to totally avoid buying anything to drink, especially if you have kids at the game. It's price gouging, plain and simple. UA has a captive customer base and they are sticking it to them. They won't let you bring anything in, so you are forced to pay $4 for water or sit for 3 plus hours with nothing. Not so bad for a night game, but what about that 2:30 kickoff when its 90 degrees out?I had the Dream Land pulled pork sandwich. What a disappointment. Very greasy, full of fat and just not very good. I won't make that mistake again.
I don't like the prices but it's what the market will bear. When people stop buying the stuff, the prices will most likely come down.
If you're getting 8 oz of ice, someone isn't doing the job they're supposed to do. Ice is the most expensive part of the drink (and the most difficult to replenish if it runs out). At around $.12 per drink for the paper cups, the drinks are almost pure profit, so it doesn't matter if you get ice or no ice. Many people order the drinks with no ice and all workers are supposed to oblige.I've never really eaten any food at BD, other than maybe a bag of peanuts (now $4 by the way) or something like that, but it is ridiculous to ask folks to pay $4 for 8 oz of Coke and 8 oz of ice in a paper cup. The $6 plastic cups are an absolute joke. There are plenty of eating choices before and after the game so I can avoid the food prices, but after a half of yelling and cheering I almost always need a drink at halftime. And I feel absolute pity for the folks with small children.
It ought to be against the law to charge folks this much for fountain drinks that might cost $0.50 total (and that's probably high). Then, you have bottled water for $4!? I think bottled water is ridiculous at $1 a bottle, much less $4. I am a big time capitalist and free market kind of guy, but this is highway robbery. The university ought to be ashamed for gouging their fans this way. Having said that, you can bet the prices are here to stay.
The Masters is a unique event in all of big time sports in that the people running the tournament are not trying to make any money off of it. Augusta National has more money than they need and charging the ridiculously low food prices is their way of "giving back".Great point TideWatcher! I was going to elude to the cheap prices at the Masters event as well. I beleive it is exactly what several of you have said, as long as there are some that are willing to pay it, they'll continue to charge these amounts for it!
