That's just wrong! It takes time for it to translate to the field. Not everybody came make an impact coming out of HS.
I've seen the development that our staff has done with our 2010 kids(Jimbo 1st recruiting class). It takes time to build the quality of depth. Bowden left the program in bad shape, so it will take time.
Compare what Saban inherited at Bama in 2007 with what Jimbo inherited at FSU, and then look at Saban's second season at Bama (2008). Do you still think it "takes time" for a good coach to translate what he inherits (and what he recruits) into success on the field?

Good point but it is kind of unfair to compare Saban to Jimbo or almost any other coach for that matter. Saban had been a head coach multiple times and for a lot longer than Jimbo when they took over their respective jobs.

I'm not so sure I'd say the cupboard was totally bare. Looking at just Rivals since 2008 FSU has finished in the top 10 every time. I was one of those that thought FSU would put together a great season this year and possibly compete for a title. Maybe they will in 2012 but it didn't translate this year at all.

I think the Barn put the Bama hat on the table so it would look like he rejected us to go there.

If you really want some laughs, check out the Extension Center's message board. If you can wade through their threads where they are whining about not having their own stadium, they are boasting about how they don't care about five star recruits and they are happy with who they got. Yeah, right, I'm sure they would turn down an offer to swap classes with us or anybody in the SEC.

I'm not sure about that. There were recruitniks here who were talking about the solid possibilities of him being a part of this class. It's not like Bama wasn't recruiting him.

Young was never more than a backup plan in case we didn't feel good about the chances Brandon Hill would qualify, and as for Louis, I don't think we were ever recruiting him to start with.

so at the end of the day, the school in west Georgia picked up a QB that had offers from low tier D1 schools.

a commitment who was peviously committed since August 2011.

a 4* star OL who bascically was Plan B for big brother and passed on by most major D1 schools.

they left 7 spots unfilled when depth was and will be an issue going forward.

overall, a good day for the barn. :rolleye2:

I think the worst rating for the Barn's class was #17 not too bad really unless you look at who they recruit against. Head to head, FSU, Georgia, LSU and Alabama. In that view they come in dead last.
