If I tracked down one person who said that, it would be called anecdotal and proof of nothing. That’s the problem with this kind of demand — it isn’t about evidence, it’s about dismissing whatever doesn’t fit the narrative.Sorry - I haven't seen anyone who is not already a politician/partisan activist/political commentator actually say this is why they did not participate on the "No Kings" protests.
Did you actually hear someone - just an average person on the street - say it - this is why they chose not to participate....or is it a theory of yours?
What I’m talking about isn’t hidden or theoretical. It’s in arrest records, court filings, and credible reporting from the past few months. The fact that people affected by it don’t broadcast it on cue doesn’t make it any less real.
The people most likely to face profiling are also the least likely to advertise that experience in public. Fear and fatigue are powerful silencers, and expecting them to raise their hands for your approval doesn’t make much sense. Here’s what does, though: once intimidation becomes routine, it keeps expanding to whoever challenges power next.
