Some may recall my earlier conservative estimate that the football team would do well to go 7-4 during the regular season next year considering the problems we have with depth, experience, etc. After having reviewed next season's schedule, something dawned on me. Alabama can achieve the record I think they might if they can again gain one of the hallmarks of the Alabama program of old -- win at home! We have seven games at home next year and all are potential victories; only the last game will be a significant challenge:
Sep 4 Utah State
Sep 11 Ole Miss
Sep 18 Western Carolina
Oct 2 South Carolina
Oct 16 Southern Miss
Nov 6 Mississippi State
Nov 20 Auburn
Even should we lose two home games (for argument's sake say Auburn and South Carolina), we have Kentucky in Lexington and either Arkansas in Fayetteville or Tennessee in Knoxville that could make up for those losses.
Regardless, I think this team's home record and the beginning of the re-establishment of the home field dominance we enjoyed in the past will go a long way to determining not only this year's record but the record for teams over the next several years.
