Taking child to a game?

I'm going to agree with Shadow, mainly because we attend the games together, but taking kids at a young age is priceless. When a four year old at the Duke game taps you on the shoulder just before kick off and says,"the guys with the white helmets are the bad guys" you just can't help but laugh!

My son was two for his first game. the SECCG in 99. he slept through most of the game because he was tired from the pep rally stuff. He is very fond of the pictures from that trip. No he doesn't rememeber the game itself.... but he knows he was there.

RTR, take the child.

I live in Columbia, Mo. ( grew up in Tuscaloosa ) and I took my daughter, age 3 , to the game in Fayetteville. After she got used to all the yelling in the first five minutes she thoroughly enjoyed herself. As for not remembering, she still talks about the fans saying " RTR " and the three students sitting behind her that gave her part of their soft pretzel to her and continually received high fives in return. She constantly says she wants to go to another game.

As everyone else has said, take him! I have a 2-1/2 year old and tomorrow will be his 2nd game (his first was the Vanderbilt game earlier this year). As someone said earlier, your days with your children are already numbered so don't not spend one of them just because your afraid he's too young.

BTW - My son enjoyed it, I think, and made it thru the whole game. He's a real trooper!

Good luck and I'm sure your 3 year old will enjoy it very much.

Go...Take Hm... I took my son (9 yrs) and he loved it.. It was BAMA vs USC and we lost (too much Charlie White, right)..(1978).. I was in the Dome, though, Jan, 01, 1979 when "HE" said, "BOUT"" 1 inch, better pass..

I WAZ THERE..........Ron

My first football game was in 1986 vs Notre Dame. My first basketball game was in 1989 vs LSU. I was 13 and 16 years old. My wife first football game was in 2005 vs Florida. Her first basketball game was in 2004 vs Miss.State the 97-50 win. My 9 year old son first basketball game was in 2004 vs Miss.State. I plan on his first football game to be next year vs Florida State. I am the kind of person that never leaves a game early for any reason no matter what. I have the ticket stub from each game I went to. I have a program from each game beside one 2002 vs Georiga. I would love to buy one if you have one. I have been to over 50 games. My problem is my youngest son is two years old he will be 3 in March. I got 4 tickets to this years Coppin State and LSU basketball game. I get season tickets for football. My wife thinks my youngest son should go with us to both games and the Flordia State game next year. I think he's to young and will be mad at me later in life because he didn't remember his first basketball and football games. What do you think, my wife said i'm a nut. Yes (he should go) No (he shouldn't go)

Thanks for your vote.:BigA:

Do like the first lady said and just say NO! That or make sure your son is well versed in Cuss Words and drunken behavior:eek2:

Re: I need your Vote

Thanks! Looks like he will be seeing his first game. I was thinking he shouldn't go. I was thinking the first game should be something very important and he should be around 6 or 7 so he could remember most of it. I still think about the first game I went to in 86. I know Coppin State want be much of a first game but the FSU game will be a great first football game for both of my boys.:BigA:

Ask the people you will be sitting next to. As for me - leave him at home for eight more years - let him grow up.
