The 2024 Presidential Election

Anyone who questions whether he still has it should watch this segment. Good to see the president back out with the folks!

Thanks for posting this, Bazza. The best way to determine Biden’s mental acuity is to watch how he responds at an unscripted event.

FWIW, the HCR letter today contains a roughly six minute interview with Mr Biden. It is another unscripted piece.

I'm still not sold that either Trump or Biden will be the nominee. But as we get closer, I'm not so sure......things are definitely getting tight!

Interesting segment......and IMHO, he's not wrong on most of what he says........

Young Turks founder and host Cenk Uygur claims there is a “near 100 per cent” chance former president Donald Trump will beat President Joe Biden if they face off in the upcoming presidential election. Cenk Uygur is running for president as a Democrat in the 2024 election as he hopes to become the primary candidate over the current president. Mr Uygur warned another term with Mr Trump as president would be a “total disaster” but stressed he also wanted to “push out” President Biden. “It is a disaster for Joe Biden and right now if we don’t get him out we are definitely going to lose to Donald Trump,” he told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan. “He is losing every single swing state, we have to act now to get new candidates in and that is mission number one.”

Health issues aside, you can take it to the bank they will be the nominees.:(
I would be happy to help and run, but I'm missing a key component necessary for running for political office; I'm not a full-blown sociopath. Simply put, I just don't qualify.

This is why I have always found the MAGA "Biden is incoherent" claim ludicrous. I'm like, "Have you even listened to that OTHER bumbling idiot, who sounds like a fifth grader reciting the few words he can remember for the class memorization project of the Gettysburg Address?"

Biden has two excuses, both legit:
1) he has always had a speech impediment
2) he had 2 (or 3) aneurysms during the 1988 campaign and missed five months in the Senate

I'm "fine" with "a bit bothered by an octogenarian with his finger on the nuclear button."
Fine.

But you don't get to use that argument when your offered replacement is a 77-year old toddler who sounds like he's in the final stages of neurosyphilis, either.

He's begging the SCOTUS for the "get out of jail" card. If they decide in his favor, he or any following president could just jettison the Constitution...

George Conway retweeted an interesting point today: using trump's argument, Biden can simply pull out a gun at the presidential debate and blow Trump's head off and be immune from it and be guaranteed reelection.

I may be giving too much credit, but I don't think SCOTUS is dumb enough to give carte blanche to Trump with the risk of allowing others in the future to have the same freedom.

I don't, either.

Generally speaking in regards to Trump - yes, despite some conflicts of interest from Thomas - they have generally ruled what is reasonably within the law as has virtually every judge not named Aileen Cannon.

we'll see, but I hope that the worrying is much do about nothing. I suspect they're probably going to rule that he can be on the ballot, but they're going to have a serious problem unless they want to legislate from the bench for what specifically constitute presidential immunity, too. I hope Roberts is able to get a large consensus that is not just an ideologically drawn conclusion on this.
