[Bama Lee]

The Good- Ty Simpson made a statement. Germie Bernard doesn’t get enough credit… he is elite. The whole team responded to whatever that was last week. Coaches and players fought through some demons. The defense definitely played with more force. And for once we actually finished a game.

The Bad- Linebackers played much better but maybe I just don’t like the scheme. The watch and react Just seems such a flat footed approach.

The Ugly- 73-0….. Jeesh

Good: QB play, overall effort and enthusiasm. QB Reese is going to be a dawg. Always gotta pull for a Birmingham City Schools product.

Bad: Losing Beaman for the season. Another BCS product I was looking forward to seeing have a breakout season.

Ugly: The closeline by the ULM punter

B- Instant replay and the targeting penalty are both still horrible and greatly reduce my enjoyment of the game.

The Good - Excellent effort and finish by the entire team. Ty looked super. We got to see new faces, and they didn't disappoint. Even the true freshmen contributed bigly. Bama did not have to punt. No injuries to speak of.

The Bad - it's hard to find anything bad. Bama was 5 for 55 yards on penalties. Much improved, but still too much.

The Ugly - The targeting. The refs made a couple of ugly calls.

Bad: play calling at times. Is it me or doesn’t Grubb get into this mode where he just refuses to run the ball?

Good: Just about everything ! Love the score! Loved all 3 QB's and Brooks at WR!
Bad. : Still need to improve the O line and D line /ILB for tougher games. We won't really know this until the Georgia game though.
Ugly: the refs on one of our penalties. The tackle the ULM punter made on us.

The intensity caught my attention as well. It was great that they were still bringing it in the final minutes.

I agree 100% !!!! And the hit on Ryan last week wasn't??????? Really ?????

Good: This was the best effort I’ve seen from us in a long time, going back into the middle of Saban’s tenure. Could have used more punting reps, but overall even the officiating was solid (aside from the one issue noted under Bad). Maybe they were a little overzealous, but I won’t fault them for it. I also respected how hard ULM played all the way through. For who they are, they’re a solid team.


Bad: The targeting call was flat-out wrong.


Ugly: Nothing in this game, except the lingering frustration from the FSU loss. From here on out, I’m judging Bama more on effort than on wins. DeBoer is right: this is a good team, but the effort has to be there. His challenge is finding a way to keep these players motivated. If we consistently bring that kind of effort, we might still lose a few, but I believe good things will follow.

Good: Team attitude and execution. could say a ton here. Well done this week. Roll Tide.

Bad: Will be overacting to the extreme again as fans one way or other.

ugly: no sacks. I think there was one against fsu but lack of ability to get to QB is a bad sign. Lack of explosive runs as well. Only one I think that was Dear in the 4th. Two things that will rear their heads against good teams.

That was rough but Adams took it like a champ. ULM did make some big hits but our guys shook em off which is what Saban always preaches.

I'm normally against such things but I think I am ok with running up the score on a few teams this season if we can do it. And ULM will always be one of them.
