It's BS and tells one much about the posters who lean on it...
Keeping perspective, those at one time supported Trump (or still do). Trump is the same he’s always been, he didn’t just suddenly become a slug.
Anyone who ever supported Trump is responsible for 1/6/21 and where we are right now, in the socio-political sense. Everything that has happened since then, and is yet to happen, is on them. He should have never been allowed to hold any elective office.
I doubt very seriously history will give them a pass.

I actually remember the young Trump very well and I don't agree he's the same as always. Sure, he's always been full of BS and bluster, but he used to speak in complete sentences and actually said something which reflected thought. That's not true now. OTOH, almost everything Biden says reflects thought. If one has the mental edge, it's Biden. He certainly makes a lot more good decisions than Trump...

I wasn’t referring to coherence and cogency; I was speaking to character - ethics and integrity.
He’s never had either. Or any morality that couldn’t be bought.

I'm no Trump fan at all, but the Democrats nominated a guy that can't walk up steps or remember what he is saying from moment to moment. "You know the thing."
1) Gerald Ford had trouble with steps.

Michael Dukakis mused during the 1988 campaign that the ONLY time his picture made the networks for going up the stairs was the ONE TIME he fell. He noted he boarded a plane a dozen times a day for nine months, stumbled once - and it was a news story. His actual words, "I started to feel sorry for Jerry Ford."

And George Wallace traced the demise of his already futile 1976 Presidential campaign to the time they dropped him carrying him up the stairs.

Ford had more trouble than most but maybe - just maybe - he had a bit of CTE going on, too.

2) Talking about Biden's trouble with sentences and giving Mr. Repeat the Same Phrase a free pass tells me all I need to know about the objector.

Does Biden sometimes have trouble? YES. But I would caution everyone to remember two things:
1) Biden suffered two aneurysms in 1988 at age 45 that nearly killed him - so you're talking about someone who has overcome a potentially fatal event.
2) He has overcome a speech impediment.

I can say A LOT of negative things about Biden as I can any politician. You are NEVER totally the same after a stroke or aneurysm - not completely - but for an 80-year old with the challenges he has had, he has done well.

But seriously - anyone who voted for Mr. "I'm An Old Man With Serious Knowledge Limitations So I Will Just Say The Same Thing Over and Over Again Loudly And Hope Nobody Notices" loses all right to complain about Biden's speech patterns.

Be honest - tell me Biden sounds worse than this actual quote from a December 2015 debate:

“We have to be extremely vigilant and extremely careful when it comes to nuclear. Nuclear changes the whole ballgame. I think to me, nuclear, is just the power, the devastation is very important to me."

The same Fake Tough Guy also said this:

Look, having nuclear − my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart.

And this:
Well here's what I would do.
And I've been saying this for a long time,
I've been saying it to you.
I would have, and now they're just starting,
if you remember when I said attack the oil,
because that's their primary source of wealth.
Attack the oil.
People smiled and they laughed and they thought it was a joke,
and they thought it was funny.
Now as of two days ago they're attacking the oil.
Uh I would absolutely I would obliterate their source of wealth.
And I would also attack the banking system,
because they're getting tremendous amounts of funds

through a very complex network

I mean, move over Mr. King and Mr. Roosevelt and Mr. Reagan and Mr. Obama, you have competition.

I have no problem with anyone pointing out a perceived problem by anyone whether corruption or speech patterns or flip-flopping or anything. But people lose me when they want to go "Biden sounds like a mental patient"...and I know they voted for Trump.

The worst thing is that Trump's speech patterns directly reflect his thinking patterns, incoherent, according to his aides. He didn't use to sound like a scatterbrain, not even being able to digest a one page daily summary, but having it read to him and still losing attention...

I don't give Trump a pass on anything. I wouldn't vote for the guy in 2024 under any circumstance, but two things can be true at once. Trump can be a total moron, and Biden can still be having issues. As I stated in another post I'm no doctor to diagnose him, but if I go back and listen to him while V.P. and during the 2020 election to now he has clearly declined. He did a good job in his V.P. debate in 2012. He isn't the same guy when speaking now. He seemed to have almost completely overcome any speech issues he had when he was young. When he was serving as V.P. I didn't even know he had a problem with his speech.

I can't tolerate listening to Trump, but I also cringe when I hear Biden. It is possible to have no confidence in either of them. This isn't a binary situation. People don't have to be backed into a corner of if you criticize Trump you love Biden or vice versa. Proving Trump is a blowhard that repeats himself and uses the same catchphrases over and over doesn't make Biden into Obama, Clinton, 1980 Reagan, or JFK. I'm not a fan of many of Obama's policies, but the guy obviously had his act together and was in command of the situation. I don't see that when I watch Biden. He comes across as having handlers that manage him.

I am 55 years old. I have a neurological condition that is genetic. I have developed balance issues in the last few years. I can no longer run or even break into a light jog. I have great difficulty climbing stairs and going down terrifies me. I have fallen several times and my strength and endurance have both declined rapidly. Even getting to a standing position is difficult.

My brain and speech still work fine. I am in the early stages of seeking medical treatment for this.

So I’m not going to mock someone for having issues getting around.

I'll repeat - I'd like to see Trump try to ride a bicycle. Probably, with his upbringing - getting chauffeured to school every day, I doubt he ever even had one...

It’s not mocking to say someone has declined as they age. I certainly will as I age. I can already see the slowdown with some of my joints beginning to give me problems. Some age better than others.

You’re probably right that he couldn’t, and anyone that lets Biden on a bike is crazy. My dad is 83 and I wouldn’t let him near a bike. If he tries to ride one I’d steal the tires. Once again two things can be true at once. Trump nor Biden have my confidence.

Well, I am 83 also, and I still ride a bike. And my avatar pic is only a year old...
