The Missouri Game Will Reveal This Team's Ceiling...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

We may get the higher scoring game with Mizzou that we were expecting with Vandy.

To me the real test will come against Tennessee. They will have an offense that can match our offense.
Tenn almost loss to Miss st and had to come back and win in overtime. Bama gets them in Tuscaloosa, Deboer will have the team salivating from last year's loss.

By no means can we overlook this game, but Mizzou hasn’t exactly gotten punched in the mouth yet with 109th SOS in the nation. That probably means they’re healthier and fresher but also not nearly as battle-tested. Early kick on the road, so a fast start on offense is huge. Mizzou loves to run but from what I’ve seen it’s more power between the tackles than the misdirection stuff FSU ran. We’re beginning to show steady improvement there. As road games go, this may be our toughest game left on paper (except for the fact that Jordan Hare makes no kind of sense on paper).

1. We are coming off two big emotional wins
2. Missouri is coming off a bye
3. We have a big game against Tennessee next
4. Missouri runs the ball well and has a good offense

It's going to be a tough one. If we win this game I'll start to believe we can make some noise this season.

If we lose this one it'll be a tough road to the playoffs. We still have to play Tennessee, LSU, and Oklahoma(coming off a bye and will have their QB back). Auburn and South Carolina both have some players too and road games could make those tougher than we'd think.

Not to turn this thread into something beyond this game, but playing in the SEC is becoming like an NFL season. Every week is a game you can win or lose no matter how good or bad your team is. Should we beat Missouri? Probably, but they're a good team, it's on the road, and we are a little beat up. We can absolutely lose this game, and I won't be surprised if we do. I think we are one of the top 3 teams in the league, but I think it will take the entirety of the season to prove that out and not the results of the last two weeks or this coming week. Unfortunately, the rest of the conferences aren't going to beat each other up as much, or in the case of the Big 12, they will beat each other up, but aren't on the same level as the SEC.

All of that to say I think we have a very difficult game this weekend, that I am not going to allow the result of determine how good or not good we really are.

I am thinking this too. The NFL teams have some bad games, but that doesn't kill their seasons because they have more games and the playoffs. They are pretty much equal. College is getting like that but some leagues just aren't as tough as others so they will get the nod at the end of the year because of their joke of a schedule.
