Anybody that would let their house burn down because the authorities might find their gun stash might should rethink their attachment to their weapons. Plus, the guns would likely get burned up in the fire anyway.

I have heard of people doing dumb things to avoid prison. I do not think it would be a stretch to say that someone would not call the fire department to avoid gun charges.

Related to calling about a fire, just this week in Alabama it became law that doctors have to report gunshot wounds to the police.

There are still two not requiring it - Wyoming and, IIRC, Montana or one of the SW states...
