The Perpetual Gun Control Thread

While true, both equal loss of life.

I’m still not sure why 100 rd mags are out there though. They are as stupid as the bump stock was. Needs to be banned.

Another illogical equivalence - they don't equal an equal loss of life...

I wonder if there has ever been a home invasion by criminals that ever required more than a standard magazine to defend against. I cannot see firing off more than a few rounds to protect my home.

If you really want to know, do some google searches - I can readily recall a few off the top of my head where >25 rounds were fired by the victim.

Heck, the cops in El Paso fired 58 rounds to stop that murderer.

One bullet in the right place and one stab in the right place would be equal. I’m not talking about volume. Just the life.

This is stupid. As soon as they had guns, armies stopped supplying troops with knives. There is no equivalence between gun powder and blades. One has the power to erase many live in seconds; the other doesn't. I don't know what the hell your point is any more. That guns and knives are equally dangerous? Anyone who believes that becomes dangerous in themselves. Frankly, I think you're just trolling and I'm tiring of it...

Man carrying weapons, wearing body armor arrested at Missouri Walmart

it will be interesting to see if they are actually able to charge him with anything.

An armed man wearing body armor, military-style clothes and carrying two firearms and more than 100 rounds of ammo was arrested at a Walmart store in Missouri on Thursday, police said.
“His intent was not to cause peace or comfort ... He’s lucky he’s alive still, to be honest," said Springfield, Mo. Police Lieutenant Mike Lucas....

As everyone ran off, the man — armed with a “tactical rifle” and another gun — shot video on his phone and made comments to people while he pushed a shopping cart, the Springfield News-Leader reported....

“All we know is the fact that he walked in here heavily armed with body armor on, in military fatigues and caused a great amount of panic inside the store. So he certainly had the capability the potential to harm people,” Lucas said.

just an update on the continued stream of garbage coming from the gop and this administration.

they used the 2 month old child as a photo prop, and the kid even got a thumbs up

Depends on how he was carrying the rifle and such, but I don't know that he broke any laws.

Which is pretty insane, if you think about it.

Y'all know I'm a gun owner and a strong 2A supporter, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why it's legal to open carry a rifle in some states.

Wouldn't this fall under the sames law as yelling FIRE in a crowded place?

A few years ago when the "scare of the week" were explosives being left in a public place (Boston Bombers etc.). We took our kids to a local skating rink during daytime hours. These two dudes walk in with hoodies on (it's the summer and hot as hell in Louisiana), back packs on, all black with military looking pants (with all the pockets down the side ) and black military boots. They started walking very weirdly to the back of the rink and their body language was very disturbing. You could see people start getting very nervous, looking toward the office area of the rink waiting on the manager to come say or do something. They weren't there to skate. My wife started freaking out, so I went up front and brought it to the attention of the manager. He said he couldn't do anything because they hadn't done anything. I told him he had every right to walk up to them and question them why they were at a skating rink dressed like that and not renting skates. He did nothing, so we left with our money in hand.

“People think that if you’re simply carrying your firearm, regardless of how you’re carrying it, you’re a bad person,” he said. “But if you’re not carrying it in a menacing or threatening manner, it should be no cause for concern for anybody.”

this is pretty damn menacing and threatening. and he's got that cute 100-round mag that one of the recent d-bag shooters was using.

i know that any time i see someone open carrying in public that is not obviously a leo, i assume they are a dangerous person and try to put distance between myself/family and them. just like i would act if someone was talking/yelling to themselves in public.

thankfully, i don't see too many open carry folks out and about.

So Moscow Mitch allows everyone to go on vacation without addressing any gun control issues again. I guess he hopes things will have cooled down a bit (assuming no more killings) by the time they come back and his campaign donations will have been secured.
