Today, I think Lawrence is trailing. But the trophy isn’t voted on today. For the vast majority of voters, that will happen after conference championships....which given what Dabo is clearly shooting for, gives Lawrence a chance to get back in.

My prediction is that the trophy will be determined at the conference championship games. Jones vs. Trask and Lawrence vs. Notre Dame.

So for a lot of reasons, I’m a Notre Dame fan in the ACC championship game.

Locks did some good things while he was here, but I'll take Sark every day of the week and twice on Saturdays.
Im not as adverse to him as I am to Nuss by any stretch, but I do think him not really correcting some of Tua’s bad habits was a big reason we came home empty handed in 2018.

I saw an article on Facebook today (maybe from SDS) where a reporter asked Dabo about Trevor's Heisman chances. He said Trevor is the best player in the nation, and that logical people know that. He said he is more worried about winning than the Heisman.

I don't think Saban would come out and say that about Mac or Devonte, or at least not the bragging way Dabo said it. He would say it a more humble way. I do think Trevor will go #1 in the draft. I also think Trevor plays against worse defenses than Mac though. The Clemson vs ND game will be interesting.

Notre Dame may have beaten Clemson without Lawrence at South Bend a few weeks ago, but I still think the Irish will be playing with a chip on their shoulder to prove that their earlier victory wasn't a fluke with Lawrence being MIA. I don't know about you guys, but I really think Lawrence is overrated. He had his chance to make a Heisman statement in a game that COVID prevented him from playing. He'll get his chance in the next go around, but it'll be too late with Mac and Trask showing more body work from start to finish. As for the ACC title game, I think the Irish will prevail again if their defense plays lights out that is.

Ukulele still threw for 400+ and a bunch of TDs...It's not like they had The Broncos QB back there...

I'm hoping the Heisman voters recognize that if the Bama coaches wanted to pad Mac's TD statistics, Najee would have maybe 5 rushing TDs instead of 16 (or whatever the # is), and Mac's TD numbers would be much higher. I heard somewhere that Florida RBs have far fewer TDs than Najee. IMO the number of TDs a QB has is a statistic that should not be oversold when determining the Heisman winner.

They didn’t with Tua though. Had he played the same minutes as Murray in 2018, he would have had 4500 yards and nearly 50 TD passes.

My guess - Lawrence will win it. He will get a ton of yards and TD throws as Dabo tries to push him to the top.

Going into championship weekend it will appear to be a 3 horse race with some marquee matchups - Lawrence vs. Book and Mac vs. Trask.

If ND wins, Mac wins the Heisman by defeating Trask/Florida.

If Clemson wins then Lawrence wins the Heisman just because Sunshine, etc.

Florida isn't beating Alabama, so Trask is not winning the Heisman.
Mz Lawrence needs a hair cut...
But I think he will win the Heisman anyway.

Devonta should be getting more talk as a Heisman candidate. He's, a silky smooth route runner. :)

I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt to everyone on here, but why are we talking about Lawrence when he is a distant third, missed a game, had a game canceled, etc? Currently, he is +800 favorite to win. Mack is +140 and Trask is +125.

Right now, look at the article posted recently: Heisman Watch - Can Mac Jones and Kyle Trask hold off Trevor Lawrence? (espn.com)

Mac and Trask just need to continue to play well for next two weeks leading into Dec 19th battle.
Lawrence lost a game against FSU, and that will hurt him being that he will miss two games this year and that is hard to come back from Heisman perspective.

Mac- He just need to play well against LSU. He needs to have good game. Arkansas, just solid game. Don't need to play much in Arkansas... as he know Heisman is decided in Florida game.

Trask- He can't afford mistakes. He faces Tennessee and LSU. Mess up in the game and he's all of suddenly behind Mac Jones in the race for Heisman.

It would take miracle for Lawrence to catch up. He literally would need to pass for 600 to 800 yards in next 2 games to be considered.

I believe you can submit your votes at anytime. I know I have seen games in the past where some announcer is a voter and he states he already submitted his votes and we still have games to go. I think most wait until the final deadline so who knows.
