Ticketmaster with 2000 tickets this morning

Got through after the tickets were all sold out, guy said they were all gone at 8:50 Pacific Time, 10:50 Central

50 minutes to sell out those tickets? That's kind of hard to believe.

I think that being outside of Alabama/Texas might have helped. I know of two people that got tickets this morning from ticketmaster that lived in New York. But who knows, maybe they were just luck.

Tried from DC with no luck!

This game has become too much like the Super Bowl. 25% of the fans will be either Alabama or Texas supporters and the other 75% will be employees/beneficiaries of sponsors.

Well can't really say what I exactly do with my job, but I can say that I hit the refresh button on the ticketmaster website at the "US official time" 10:00:00 am central time this morning, and it let me in, through the captcha crap you have to type after selection of the tickets you want to search for, through the identifying best available for purchase. Their website was crawling, and once I got through all of that, it said none were available at I think it was 10:05:30. There is no doubt that they either truly sold out yesterday in the Citi card holder presale, or someone had an in via the website or phone for them to be gone this quick...

11:15am EST is when I printed it out, so I would say 11:12am. I sat in stunned silence for at least 2 minutes.

i started trying online and calling around 9:50, tried on and off until 11, got nothing. i got through on the phone a little after 11 and was on hold waiting on a representative when my cel phone lost service and the call cut off. i was so mad. its a little bit relieving to find out that they were sold out by then anyway.

I am guessing being outside of Alabama was why you were able to get them. I tried nonstop from 9:58 to 10:15...online and on the phone. I never got any tickets.

Hope you have fun at the game. I was out there in 2000 when we played UCLA and I just loved the Rose Bowl Stadium. I guess my couch will have to do for this game.

Hey, thanks!!! I was at the Bama/UCLA game as well. I love the Rose Bowl and living in LA for 20 years, I finally get to see my Tide play here again and for the NC game. Excited beyond belief!! If there is a tailgate party going on, let me know. I would love to finally meet some Tidefans!!!

The Citi presale allotment sold out. There are people in this thread that got tickets this morning.

Well we had about 8 people online, and 4 others calling by phone and we didn't get any tickets. It went through the search for me but around 11:01AM EST it said it couldn't find any matches. So I figured this had to be a scam sell. The people calling said the phone lines were busy.

To those of you who did get tickets, you are lucky, lucky guys. Have fun at the game I would have enjoyed it.

I got 2 over the phone at 10:08. I knew TM's website was bad; learned that trying to buy NFL playoffs tickets where the demand crashed their servers.

It wouldn't let me get 2 tickets which is what i needed, so I went back and put in 1 ticket and it went through. Sec 9H Row 77 Seat 124. I will be sitting on a cloud but I will be in the stadium. I really wouldn't care if it were in the mens restroom at this point, i'm just glad to be going. Roll Tide

Unless my memory is severely failing me, I wouldn't worry about the row numbers. No part of the stadium really seems that high. I can't remember what row I've been in before, but it was farther up and I could see really well. They're definitely not what I would qualify as "nosebleeds".

The only "nosebleeds" are the highest seats in the stadium, which are the box seats.

I'd say that the worst seats are probably the first few rows from the field - you're almost literally on the same level as the field.

The Rose Bowl stadium does not go very high, but it goes out more than other stadiums. It is also built into the ground. It's one huge sloping bowl. There isn't a bad seat in the place.

Thanks for confirming that for me. I thought that was the case.

I had heard as well that the worst seats in the place were field level -- hard to see over the players I think I saw somewhere.

It's also one of the reasons I'm most excited about this one -- usually you have to worry about your seats, but in the Rose Bowl pretty much anywhere is going to be what you want.
