Tim Tebow Updates: Tebow?/ Tebow ESPN Documentary? (Merged)

I can't imagine why any sane QB would volunteer to come get maimed behind our excuse for an OL. Well, I can understand why Brodie would, since he grew up bleeding Crimson, but I couldn't figure why some kid from St. Augustine would.

P&G is back!

No biggie either way

I think JPW or JB will be the only QB's with a shot at starting next year.

It's funny. Wanting Tebow is like Fantasy football.

I'm want him because he has good numbers. But personally, I like a guy who loves Bama at his core... like Smelley.

Either way, I believe we win, here.

I have no reasoning for this, but something tells me that he'll pull a Brodie. Everything logically says go one place, but his heart just won't be able to pull the trigger. Especially with the Family ties.

Yawn..

New article on Tidesports.com interviewing Charlie Kirschman.. Here is a little tidbit that i thought was interesting..

"I think he is going to Alabama," said Kirschman. "I don't see why he wouldn't go to Alabama. I have been hinting to him every day he needs to go to Alabama. I don't think the commitment of Jarred Fayson to Florida will have influence on his decision at all."

"He had a great time when he went to all the Alabama games this year. He is like a celebrity there. The student section is always chanting his name, and they made a lot of signs for him. The cheerleaders would take pictures with him, and random fans would ask him to sign autographs. There is no other place like Alabama. The Florida fans nor the LSU fans ever showed him that much support."

With regard to the FCA, Florida has a very strong pull in Danny Wurfel. I hope that Tebow makes the right decision which is best for him. I have an inkling getting Smelley would not be a bad thing.

I know he is announcing his commitment on Dec. 14. Many have said this is due to a recruiting documentary ESPN is doing on Tebow. Is this show on now? What is the name of the show and when will it be on?

Usually I know this kind of thing, but I'm yet to hear the details. Thanks for the help.

There is no listing for the Tebow commitment announcement on ESPN on Dec. 14th. His Mother has said he will commit live on ESPN. It looks like the documentary will follow later that night on ESPN2.

I will post further details when they become available.

ESPN2 Listings for Dec 14, 2005: Faces of Sports: Tim Tebow (10:00 pm to 11:00 pm ET)

I know that a lot of ya'll have said that Tebow would have other high profile recruits follow him wherever he goes. Who are these recruits of which you speak? Would they just come out of nowhere, or are ya'll just saying that some other big name recruits that we are already pursuing (Smith, Whitehead, etc.) would just go ahead and pull the trigger?

No, no out of nowhere commits, but players like Smith, Spikes, Whitehead, Hawthorne have seen Tim at all the same places and have gotten to know each other. It would definitely make them think about us a tad more.

Yes he is a runner. If you read the article in the first post of this thread you will find the following quotes:

For two and a half quarters Friday night, the entire Nease offense ran through quarterback Tim Tebow, but it didn't look like him until he finally started running.

When he did take off with the ball, Tebow carried Nease out of a 17-10 halftime deficit and into the third round of the Class 4A playoffs.

The senior ran for 103 yards and two critical touchdowns as Nease held off New Smyrna Beach 24-17.

I've always thought he looked better as a drop back passer....but Rivals has him as the #1 dual threat QB and Meyer thinks he has the speed to run the spread.

IMO, a drop back passer who can scramble if a 300 lb DL is on his butt.

RTO, would you like to see us add a couble of option plays if we pick him up.

I sorta miss the option myself.

I see Tebow as a drop back passer who isn't afraid to run if he gets in trouble.

He threw for over 4K yards, 46 TDs and 6 INTs as a junior. Rushed for 1200+ and 24 TDs.

DId anyone see him against Hoover earlier in the year? He looked like a pass first, then run QB.

I saw Tim in that game. I thought he would be taller and look more like William Wallace :D
