Bazza,

If Donald Trump were authentic, he wouldn't lie so damned much.

I know politicians lie - sometimes they know they're doing it, a lot of times (like during campaigns) it comes from not knowing as much about a subject as they like to think. Sometimes the promise is genuine ("ready my lips, no new taxes") but circumstances force a course alteration.

But this guy lies like most of us break wind.

Thing is, it wouldn't matter if the same Republican Party that told Nixon "you're gonna resign" or told Reagan, "it'll be a cold day in Nicaragua before another dime goes there to the contras" (Durenberger) still existed, but they don't.

But his own party is engaged in, "Let's gather our own January 6th committee and provide an alternative version of reality," which has been this guy's m.o. all his life.
how dare you insult my flatulence like that sir /s

I don't think lying by a politician means all that much any more, Bill. Look at how many people still worship Joe, despite all his lies over the years.

I can live with some harmless lies as long as that politician gets things done.

Biden's inability to control the southern border for me did way more harm to this country than anything Trump has done so far....in my opinion. YMMV, of course.....

The Senate legislation to nullify tariffs on Canada can’t take effect without House approval.
But House is currently not in session
Don't forget why the House is not in session. It has nothing to do with the shutdown. Once back in session, spinless Johnson has to swear in Adelita Grijalva, who will be the final signature on a petition to force a vote on the Epstein files. She cannot do her job right now; her constituents have no representation because Johnson is a tiny baby of a man.

Covid in pregnancy tied to autism, developmental issues, study says

A study published in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology analyzed more than 18,100 births in Massachusetts of children born to women who contracted the virus starting in the early months of the pandemic through some of 2021.

This study looked at pregnancies in 2020–21, when expectant mothers had no access to vaccines, and shows a possible link between COVID infection during pregnancy and higher rates of developmental issues. Meaning: the risk appears greater when moms are unprotected against disease.

Kennedy has spent more than 20 years pushing a baseless conspiracy that vaccines cause autism. Now the Trump Administration is telling pregnant women to skip covid vaccines entirely — which would put them right back in the circumstances where a potential risk actually emerged. If they truly cared about reducing autism, they'd stop promoting the conditions that actually make infections more dangerous for developing babies.

RFK will claim that these women took Tylenol (please don’t confuse with acetaminophen) when they had COVID

Trump talking about Biden. This is the guy MAGA loves, conservatives endorse, and libertarians tolerate. All Americans should condemn this type of behavior.

It is according to the plan:

----
A new leader takes over from their predecessor. In the desk drawer, they find three sealed envelopes labeled 1, 2, and 3, with a note: “Open these when you hit a crisis.”

A few months in—crisis #1. They open Envelope #1:
“Blame me.”
They do, and the heat dies down.

Later—crisis #2. They open Envelope #2:
“Reorganize.”
They shuffle the org chart, announce a fresh start, and survive again.

Eventually—crisis #3. They open Envelope #3:
“Prepare three envelopes.”

Funny, I covered this.

Look at how many people still worship Joe, despite all his lies over the years.

Literally nobody falls at the feet of Joe Biden or dismisses even the tiniest criticism as "Derangement Syndrome," which has become the fallback of the intellectual class of Trump defenders.

I can live with some harmless lies as long as that politician gets things done.

Why is the fallback position of the Trump defender to basically argue, "Yes, our guy failed the exam with a 47 but SOMEONE ELSE failed it with a 39," as if that's a valid argument?

I'm still trying to process why Trump pardoned all those Antifa rioters he originally claimed did January 6.

We're not talking about, "I know I said during the campaign that I was going to cut all this spending but then I got here and realized I really can't do jack squat since the chairs of the committees and every member of the Cabinet wants a budget increase for their department" (although this should be known by now as well).
