***Tyler Love Commits To Alabama***

Crimson Tide gets Love
The 6-foot-7, 275-pounder, who is thought of as the top offensive lineman in Alabama, rates No. 2 on the Press-Register's Elite 18 list of top in-state prospects. Love ranks No. 22, and third in Alabama behind Foley receiver Julio Jones and Vigor star Burton Scott, on ESPN's list of the top 150 national recruits.

Love made the decision from his high school gym on Friday evening, choosing Alabama over offers from programs like the national champion Gators, Georgia, LSU, Florida and Oklahoma State.

Recruit shows Tide some Love
Tyler Love, the state's top prep offensive lineman prospect for the Class of 2008, is ready to get on with the upcoming Mountain Brook High School football season.

That's why he had his mom drive him to Tuscaloosa on Friday - to tell the University of Alabama football coaches his intention to sign with the Crimson Tide in February. Love, a 6-foot-8, 285-pound tackle, chose the Tide over Florida and Georgia.

His commitment is the biggest catch of the this recruiting season for coach Nick Saban.

I know the rebuilding of Alabama has just begun, and their will be some sad days ahead as we continue to suffer growing pains, but BOY does it feel good to see the top talent coming to Alabama once again!!! I know their will be bright days ahead with a great coaching staff and great players.

Very good points! It seems like we're starting to really recruit again with the elite programs, but on-the-field success (at an elite level) will take some time.

The commitment of both Love and Ray to the Tide is an indication the players trust Coach Saban and his ability to help them move on to the next level. A lot of the players at LSU have moved on to the NFL. That in itself is huge. Joseph Adi, Jamarcus Russell, Landry, and so on. Young HS players are able to put two and two together and want to be part of something special. Its not like the players are playing Russian Roulette or taking a chance because Coach Saban is untested, its because his work, the former players, and his attitude are all signs of success. He is the real deal and that leaves Bama foes amiss. Kudos to Coach Saban and his Staff. :BigA:

I think Love will probably redshirt in 2008. This gives us a lot of flexibility at LT in 09. If AS leaves after 08 (his first year of draft eligibility), Love could play LT. If not, he could play opposite of Smith at RT.

im kinda worried about Dre leavin early. Hes a top 10 draft pick even as a junior, but he could possibly win the Outland trophy if he stays till his senior year.
