UA Coaching Carousel - Discussion of Hires...

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

Saban had plenty of time to announce Enos as OC but never did. Leads me to believe he was not going to promote him anyway.

Could that mean he has someone else in mind to bring in? I don't know who that might be, but with the talent we have on that side of the ball, we should have lots of guys interested in the job.

Really irritated, I get it "trust the process", at what point in the process do we get to keep a successful coach for more than one damn season!!!!

Well, he wanted Freeze at one time........maybe he has someone in mind that is dynamic in his play calling. Couldn’t hurt to bring a rabbits foot with him for luck against injuries

I personally don’t really care as long as we are winning the National Championship every other year.

Back away from the ledge. Have you seen the class of recruits we just signed? Take a breath and remember, there is a reason Bama pays Saban the money he makes.

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

The fact that Saban didn't promote him leads me to think he wanted to move in a different direction. Really hate it though, b/c I think he's a heck of a coach

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

Read that Enos did not enjoy his time here at Alabama. The pressure and grind from Saban. RTR

Seems like you can insert “Coach X” for Enos in that statement and you’ve just described the tenure of every assistant under CNS since 2012

Sorry, this is not even close to true. Most who have left have spoken glowingly of Saban. Only a few have not done so, and we have to guess that thy might not have been happy. And then there is Kiffin, being Kiffin.

I’m sure they speak highly of coach as they should, just seems like the newer assistants have not enjoyed their stay in TTown

Re: First Head Coaching Casualty of 2018

Anyone know anything about ND State Bison’s OC? They are used to winning National Championships. From the little bit that I saw their offense, they looked pretty good.

I hear Rick Neuheisel is looking to get back into coaching.

We will most likely promote from within like we did for Locksley.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your 2019 University of Alabama Offensive Coordinator - Butch Jones

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

One of the few things I remember from the broadcast is Herbie insinuating that the Ross didn’t come to Bama because of the coaching uncertainty. Does anyone know if there’s merit to that?

I’ve heard that Ross was concerned about our ability to throw the ball downfield and the overall development of the passing game in the offense going forward. Remember it was well documented about our receiving corps “frustrations” with Jalen last year. And I’m certain that coaches recruiting against Alabama didn’t hesitate to bring that up. Plus, I think he felt it might be easier to play earlier at Clemson.
And as we saw, the latter wasn’t true as Waddle came in and contributed to from the jump.
I never heard his concern was staff turnover.

Re: First Head Coaching Casualty of 2018

Isn't he coaching one of the teams in the new developmental football league? The team that is run by Phil Savage?

You are correct. He's coaching Phoenix. Good catch.

Re: 2018-19 Coaching Carousel

I’d love to know the reasoning in not
promoting him..........I thought he did a good job and would have been a good choice

He's a great QB coach, but I'm not sure why folks are / were all excited about him being OC - the only place I can recall him being OC was at Arky and those offense had some interesting twists but weren't exactly cutting edge or points machines.
