Sorry if this is already been posted guys;

I saw on Rivals.com that the Florida coaching staff passed on a scheduled in-home visit with Arthur Brown this week. Considering how strange Brown's recruitment has been, this makes things even stranger. I am wondering if there is a reason that UF backed off of this guy. With Brown dropping OU and Bama (as well as other schools) one has got to wonder what exactly is going on with this kid. I don't want to suggest that he personally is doing anything wrong, but his so called "recruiting adviser" and "family spokesperson" seems kind of sketchy. He's got amazing talent and I look forward to watching him play, but it seems like it could have also been a huge headache...
Thoughts?

I know his "advisor" issued a statement saying we were no longer in the running, but does anyone think someone on our staff may still be in contact with AB? Being that he is from Kansas, who on the staff has recruiting responsiblity over that geographic area? Seems to me Coach Saban himself may want to at least make a phone call to this kid..

Yeah..I stated early this season, something is fishy about this kid....including his brother

I think we should leave him alone. Something about this advisor stuff just don't seem right. Not saying AB would ever do anything wrong, but ya never know what his 'agent' is up to behind the scenes. I'm glad he dropped us. I would imagine the NZAA is keeping one eye on this deal also.

Yes,very few Teams can offer a new house, car, and money too!

It was very strange, to say the least, to see Brown drop OU. I'm wondering if these schools didn't "smell" something and take a pass on Mr. Brown.

I would much rather see Bama sign Jerrell Harris than Arthur Brown. If the choice is between those two. I have no idea what is going on with the Arthur Brown entourage or where they will end up.

It is widely thought that Miami is the leader for AB's services. A side note to that is that AB's handler Mr Butler visited Miami alone shortly before they moved up his list of favorites. You can draw your own conclusions, but a lot of big time programs have " backed off" recently.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is thinking that AB is trying to "sell" himself to the highest bidder. It seems to me, this kid, is not a "going to class" kind of athlete, in that he will be a headache to deal with.

IF THAT IS THE CASE, I'm glad AB chopped us off his list. But I am begining to think, Nick Saban stopped recruiting after he learn something disturbing (don't know, but gut tells me something) about Arthur Brown and his "advisor." So, it would be a natural fit for AB going to Miami, if that is where he lands.

I must say that I agree with all of the aforementioned. Any time you have a situation like this, you really cannot help but wonder. It's weird enough when it is a father or a coach, but a "handler" as some call him only makes it that much more odd.

And apparently I'm not the only one. Any time you have top programs bailing left and right on a guy who is arguably the #1 overall player in the country, something is most definitely up.

I'll admit that I wanted Brown badly, and I hated that he eliminated us at the time it happened. At the time, I just hoped he did not go to an SEC rival. With a couple of months for reflection, however, I'm glad he eliminated us, and I'm relieved that he will not be calling our name on Monday.

And whichever schools hears it's name called in three days should probably have a very guarded celebration over the commitment. You know the old saying about getting what you wish for.

I'll take Hightower, Jordan, and others any day of the week and I will be perfectly happy.

actually, USC is not doing an in home visit either. they are doing their "in-home" over the phone.
From what I understand, the USC in-home visit was cancelled due to the icestorm that was taking place the day it was scheduled...thus the phone interview. He has already visited there, and likes Ken Norton Jr, but as far as I know, LSU got the last in home with him. I think there's a decent chance he goes to LSU or USC...but Ken Norton Jr. seems to carry a lot of clout in recruiting.

Well, buddy, if you guys get him, enjoy the boost in the recruiting rankings.

And then best of luck with all of the extra baggage he will be bringing to Baton Rouge.

If you guys want him, then take him. All I am saying is that I am glad that he is not coming to Tuscaloosa. I remember all too well what happened with the last player who came to Tuscaloosa that gave me this same feeling. I'm sure I'm not the only one either.
