Promising updates from some key guys I've been pretty worried about. Both Robinson and Koht finally listed above 240 as is Carter. Not by much and would still like a little more mass, but it's more manageable than where they where. Russaw crossed 250 so that's in the right range. Pierre is almost 240 as is Ross. Good gains from that entire group, especially Q Rob and Koht since they've been in the program so long and never seemed to really progress in adding what was needed.

Alexander dropped over 15 which will help him in at ILB a lot (assuming it's helped with his speed and quickness) - Dawson and Campbell both added some weight - Lawson a good bit and so did Jefferson who's now truly SEC sized. Jones and the kid from Germany are right at the 230 range so likely right where they need to be. Dixon is still in the safety range though

Brailsford got up to 290, so big improvement, but still the smallest OL by far.

Proctor is listed at 369, and honestly that's pretty concerning. He wasn't exactly mobile last year, and this is a heavier listed weight. Hopefully he's moved some bad weight to good weight, but even though he moved up to first string recently, I wouldn't be shocked to see him get nudged back once we start getting into pass pro reps against some of our faster edge guys.

Most of the other starting OL seem to have stayed about the same - minor movement or a little loss, which probably isn't a bad thing.

Interestingly some of the guys on JOX in B’ham last week were saying they thought Proctor had “slimmed down” from last year. Of course they also said they thought he was “in the 380 lb range” last year! Like you, if he is carrying 360+ pounds, I’m hoping it is better distributed.

I thought it was interesting that of all the players, one is 6'-7", and about 5 or 6 are 6'-6" and all of those are OL except for one QB.

Proctor was listed at 355 lbs before the increase.

James Burnip gained 16 pounds? Wow ! Caleb Odom is looking more TE than WR at 227, hybrid? Daniel Hill weight from sledge Hammer at 231 to monster at 241.
I thought CKD coached a lighter faster finesse team. Im sure I read that somewhere. Maybe he coached what he had or getting pushed around by Michigan changed his mind . Either way looks good heading into an SEC schedule. .

I think you're right in that he coached what he had. The SEC is a gauntlet right now though where there is a very fine line of big enough to handle the grind, but not so big as to lose the speed required against a lot of the teams who spread us out. Hopefully we're threading the needle.

Might be picking nits here, but I am a bit concerned about Proctor. Essentially out of football for several months, in neither Iowa's nor our S&C and nutrition program. That could lead to some eating and/or workout habits that aren't good. Then the weight.

Maybe it's fine. Maybe it's getting there. Maybe he has some work to do. I don't know. But I do know that we need him in shape.

On proctor:
Kalen DeBoer said OT Kadyn Proctor is in fantastic shape and is very lean. “Love his demeanor out there. It’s good to have him back. Good to have him here.”
I suspect the weight isn't accurate. HE lost 10 pounds when he came back to Alabama. So if he added weight, then it probably was through muscle, not body fats.

they just updated it. Fall was 355, rejoin weight was 360 and now it's 369 and I don't think they would just make it up. Typo maybe, but it's still a gain. I think it's likely 4Q is right and that Proctor was headed in the wrong direction for a bit - he did have a knee issue that might have required him to pause the conditioning and get off plan - and is hopefully getting it back where he needs to be. Whatever the weight number was last fall, he didn't carry it well on the field. Coaches are saying he's making progress, but I'll also reserve the right to be a little concerned until I see him quick enough to handle a speed edge rusher in live reps

Funny thing about Daniel Hill, when I first researched him. I saw a number of different weights, depending on the site. I saw 231, 234, 235, 238, and 241. Then the official roster had him at 231. Now he's 241. I think Derrick Henry was 242 lbs at Alabama. I'm curious to see what all Hill can do.
