If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride, and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards. - Paul W. Bryant

I can't think of anything more appropriate at this time. Victor was a winner and achieved the ultimate championship. We'll miss you Victor!

Thank God for Victor's life! Victor has returned home, don't mourn his death, he's happier then any of us now. Thank God for Alabama football which led us to know a great man like Victor. Roll Tide Victor! Can't wait to see you on the other side.

Just heard about it on the radio a little while ago. We'll miss you, Victor. We are comforted by the fact that you are now resting in the arms of your Savior, and as it says in scripture: "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." -Psalm 116:15

You have achieved the ultimate VICTOR-Y!

I had the pleasure of watching Victor at Red Bank Highschool when he was a senior. It is a sad day for all who knew him. My prayers to his family.

May God bless his soul and give his family and friends comfort. This is very, very sad news.

There are few times that I think football is not important, this is one of them.

I wonder if the football team will do anything during the season in rememberance of Victor? Maybe a #9 decal on each player's helmet. Just a thought for honoring and remembering one of our own.

I hope his final moments on this earth were peaceful and without pain. I'm sure he was surrounded by many people who love him and are greatly bereaved today.

God bless all of them. And thank you, Victor, for being such a fine representative of all that we as the Crimson Nation hold dear to our hearts.

Rest in eternal peace.

apologies to the mods if i violate a posting rule, but i think this is appropriate:

To an Athlete Dying Young
by A. E. Housman (1859-1936)

The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.

To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields were glory does not stay
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:

Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.

So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.

And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.
rest in peace #9
