Vinnie to the Saints

He'll be a great backup/situational player for them. It wouldn't surprise me to see him push for more PT if he can improve his coverage ability just a little. He has tremendous instincts, but sometimes his aggressiveness gets him burned. I definitely think he has that "it" factor though.

He is one of my favorite players. I guess he made the right decision with being drafted now. Do you think he would have gone higher next year after maybe being outshined by Collins the whole year?

Looks like good advice considering that this was about as high as he was going to go even if he played another season. He was the 3rd best Safety at Alabama this year, and he would have been the 3rd best next year. But at most schoold he would have been the best safety by a decent margin.

I am a huge fan and will be following him during pre-season to see how they plan on using him.

sorry, but no. Collins has better measurables for sure, but there is a lot more to the game than that. Collins still needs to work on assignments, and more importantly, angle of pursuit. He took a LOT of very bad angles last year, even in the last 2 games after he'd getting a lot of the starters reps since HaHa was out and Vinnie got hurt.

Collins hasn't played as well as Vinnie yet. He'll be drafted ahead of him for sure, but just because he's a better athlete doesn't make him a better player.
