Link: vols quit am i wrong?

Don't know the exact rules pertaining too this situation, but they don't have to kick it anyway. They could have just snapped the ball and fell on it. But it is Les Miles, so he probably wouldn't have thought of that. hahahaha

There was no time on the clock. Lsu was not required to kick an XP. Same thing if you score a game winning rd
in overtime.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if the lead after the touchdown is 2 points or less, then they have to attempt the conversion. LSU would have just taken a knee anyway. Wait, with the Hat coaching, I would have made them snap it again.

Not sure of the college rule. In high school the game is over if a TD is scored on the last play of the game and the extra point will not affect the outcome of the game or playoff qualifying. Basically in HS, if the try will not tie or win the game it is not going to be played. Also, it is VERY difficult for the defense to score in high school...they can only score on a safety.

With all that said, I am not sure what the rule is in college and the try after a TD on the last play of the game

Not sure of the rule either, however, in the NFL, I'm pretty sure you kick the XP no matter what....I've seen many a bet go from push to loss based on this, lol.

No. I believe that rule pertains only to overtime play. If after two consecutive overtime periods the score is still tied, then starting in the third OT period, a 2 point conversion must be attempted after a TD.
I don't think there is any such requirement during regular game play.

I have no idea. On the broadcast, I heard the PA announcer say that because the game was within 2 points (my guess is that a blocked PAT could be returned), the attempt must be made. It's really a moot point because even Les the Hat would take a knee it that situation.

More of Les's Luck that they didn't have to play the extra point. The way LSU played, they'd fumble the snap, TN would pick it up and return it for two points. Tie game and OT.

ARE YOU SURE THEY WOULD TAKE A KNEE?
Remember that Less is a master at 'Clock Management'...And Jefferson has issues with ball control...

I don't know about them quitting, but I thought the game ended perfectly. I was actually laughing out loud.

Pretty sure someone (probably not Less)] on the LSU staff would have thought of the Victory Formation.

The 10RC players didn't quit, they should have never even been in that game. I think young Mister Dooley is doing a great job up there, dammit.

I think so too. They gave Oregon and Florida all they wanted for a while. They are playing over their heads. I am sure young Dooley is learning as well.

I would guess that there would only be the 1 untimed play, which would mean there would be no PAT attempt, as this would actually be 2 plays.

Extension of Periods
ARTICLE 3. a. A period shall be extended for an untimed down (other than
a try) if during a down in which time expires one or more of the following
occurs (A.R. 3-2-3-I-VIII):
1. A penalty is accepted for a live-ball foul(s) not treated as a dead-ball
foul (Exception: Rule 10-2-5-a). The period is not extended if the
statement of the penalty includes loss of down (A.R. 3-2-3-IX).
2. There are offsetting fouls.
3. An official sounds his whistle inadvertently or otherwise incorrectly
signals the ball dead.
b. Additional untimed downs (other than a try) will be played until a down
is free of the circumstances in statements 1, 2 and 3 of Rule 3-2-3-a
(above).
