WAFF says Sarkisian - again??

I can handle Sark if the rumored trio of Long (OC), Sark (QB/co-OC), and Butch (WR) is true.

When LSU hired him out of the blue I was like...who?
Actually, I did. My nephew's FIL was an MSU grad, at the time the plant manager for the Saginaw Steering plant just north of Decatur. We, along with my BIL were a regular weekend golf foursome. He was really high on Saban, thought he could be the one to bring MSU back to prominence. And - then they lost him to LSU and poor Bob had to endure our weeks of jokes... :)

As many have said, I put absolutely no confidence in anything that happens in the NFL. Quite frankly it is only one rung above the WWE. I am not sure however that we get both Sarkisian and Chip Long. I would prefer that Butch Jones remain as an analyst or in some staff support position.

I don't hate this hire either. I can tell you 2 years ago if our choices were Brian Daboll, Mike Locksley, or Sark, we would have all overwhelmingly wanted Sark. He is was more accomplished than either of those guys. I'm also glad that he's a pro style guy and likes to run the ball. That's not to say they might be better guys out there, but really, I'm not sure who they are. Of a lot of the names we've heard over the last few days, Sark is probably the best.

I may be wrong, but I feel like CNS is looking for a stabilizing, experienced hire. Another plus is with all the talk that Enos and others didn't like the grind of working for Saban (whether that's true or not) its a good thing that Sark has been here, and done that. He knows what to expect, and chose to come back, so I feel like that's a big plus.

I'm just going to wait and see who gets hired and where they land on the staff before I lose sleep over this. Saban's in a difficult position because a bunch of young coaches are likely yipping at his feet for a job but they all just want to be one and done to a promotion. This sort of coach is killing us. We need to find coaches that want to make Alabama football a champion again, not coaches who just want to ladder climb. It seems the "Franchione way" has become a thing in college football.

Chip Long is not leaving Notre Dame to be a Co-OC and Sark is not leaving an NFL job on the table to be a Co-OC.

So figure it out. We're getting one or the other.

Irish Illustrated guys are saying on Twitter that Long is no longer a candidate for Bama OC but they can't confirm that he will return to ND.

I would actually prefer Sark to the other candidates being reported - Butch Jones and Long fron ND. People talking about the problems with Falcons have a point, but the Falcons have refused to address their dreadful offensive line. The production that the Falcons had on offense was actually amazing considering they had no blocking most weeks. I also think he may be looking to stay somewhere for awhile, which would be nice considering all the turnover we have had on the coaching staff.
