Weather thread, Part II

-snip-Last winter, I was bringing firewood in from the shed. It was single digits and we had about a half inch of ice under 2" of snow. I was wearing crampons but still fell. That crap is hard to get upright on. I finally battled my way to my knees and, from there, I could finally get back up. I have better crampons now. A friend borrowed them to visit family in northern Finland and Sweden, so they're already been proof-tested...

The subject of slipping on ice came up on another forum and quite a few responses with suggestions for enhancing footwear for such occasions.

I'm sure you know about all of these Earl, but will post anyway in case it's of general interest.

Yak Trax and MicroSpikes - and there are more variations......

Please be careful out there, folks! :)

6 more weeks of winter!

@crimsonaudio 's old stomping grounds hit hard by a tornado this morning.......

An EF-2 tornado touched down in Seminole County, starting in the Longwood area along Markham Woods Road where a house collapsed, and ending in Lake Mary where a semi was overturned. We take a look at damage along the tornado's path.
