Just wondering what some of you do to pass the time during such a painful lay-over from season to season. I hate baseball so don't give me that. I've watched the UF game like 150 times. I've watched it so much that i will call the plays about to be run. I need more Bama football!!!!

On a side note, I will be leaving for basic training for the Army on the 15, so perhaps that will pass some time.

On another side note, I'm looking for that "Our tradition" video. If anyone knows where I can find it online let me know please.

Please help me feed my addiction of Bama football. I can't even keep up with recruiting anymore because it's over.

Sorry, I'm going crazy.

Be careful and best wishes during Basic Training...

As for what I plan on doing since football is finished for the year, this is how I look at things (I can't stand baseball either, although I might watch it come time for the post season):

-Arena football has just started, and that is somewhat entertaining to watch on Sunday afternoon.

-NASCAR is about to start back as well

-Spring practice and the A-Day game will be here just before we know it

-The NFL Draft and Combine will be in the news from now until late April

-NCAA basketball is with us until the end of March/beginning of April

-College baseball (I don't like baseball that much, but I will go and support Alabama's team) will be starting soon

The real dead period, in my opinion, is like from June to the end of August. At that point, all you have is baseball and NASCAR until the start of the college football season.

If Basic Training does not pass time for you, there is no help none of us can offer. You are off to a great calling, IMHO, one that can be as rewarding as you will allow. I wish you the best.

As for me, well fishing season for me will begin up this way in a few months, both in the Bay and in the rivers for some Catfish.

I appreciate your words, and agree totally. Basic will be a challenge to say the least. I couldn't be happier with my choice right now. After a lot of prayer and talking to loved ones, I finally decided to forego school and join the Army. It should pass a lot of time, but I will be coming back, and there will still be no football :(.

After basic training you'll have AIT to help pass some more time. After that, showing off that crisp new uniform should be good for a few days (and nights  ).

Rollin: Best of luck with Basic and although I was not in the service, know from what my father has said in the past that Basic is many weeks of hell, but prepares you well for whatever duty calls! Best of luck and you're right...football will still be here when you're ready.

ROLL TIDE!

Check out the new helmet for 2006! :D

Where you going to? Feel free to PM me with any questions/concerns you may have. Basic wasn't too long ago for me. With the exception of the UCLA game, basic kept me (thankfully) from seeing the 2000 season.

RollinOn - Thanks for taking the plunge for us. Everyone on this board knows what it means, and we all appreciate it. At least you won't miss any games because of basic. Best of luck to you!

Good point - I forgot about the Olympics. Here's to the USA Hockey team!

Also, for the other "football" fans out there, World Cup '06 will be here before we know it. The United States is unfortunately in a "Group of Death" with the Czech Republic(Ranked 2nd in the World), Italy(Ranked 12th in the World) and Ghana(Ranked 50th in the World). The USA is ranked 7th in the World right now.

In the 2002, the USA made it as far as they had ever been until they were knocked out by Germany. Here's hoping we can make a deeper run this time around!

Email Simon Bott, this man has got a ton of Bama games on tape or DVD.
Awhile back i got Bryant's last game and the 1979 NC game against Penn State. After watching some of these games i can't help but think WOW they don't hit like they used to,these guys left it all on the field.
