Feeling tons better. Walking with no limp at all. Zero pain. Still giving myself a couple more days before I try doing anything.

My next challenge will be hiking Panther Creek Falls.

Vacation next week. Going to be hiking all week. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
Planned hikes
Vickery Creek in Roswell Georgia
Panther Creek, North Georgia
Ravens Cliff and Dukes Creek, North Georgia
Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee
Maybe Blood Mountain, but I hear it is really difficult.

Anyone do any of these?

I've wanted to do Fall Creek Falls many times and it's just never happened. It looks spectacular. I've done Savage Gulf a couple of times and it was nice.

I did a 30-ish mile section of the AT about 25 years ago that included Blood Mtn. I'd check on water conditions.

I rarely hike in the Southeast in summer unless I'm going to be about 3000' or higher. You could hike all over the Smokies and state out of the heat.

Savage Gulf added to my list of places now. Don't know if I will get to it.

hiked Panther Creek Falls today. Unfortunately I have no photos of the actual waterfall because there was a drowning. It happened about 2 minutes before I got there. They found him and tried CPR, but he was already gone. I stated behind for a few hours because I didn't want to block emergency service.

Wow. That would have freaked me out. That's terrible.

Still not over it. Feel bad for that guy's family. Feel even worse for the younger brother, who will probably never get over it.

One thing I did learn from the ordeal is that you can text 911. It is typically for deaf people but if you are unable to speak or have a iffy signal that goes in and out, you can text them.

Was able to hit up Ravens Cliff and Dukes Creek later in the week. Then had to drive to Alabama to take my mom to the doctor for surgery on her hand (trigger finger).

I missed out on Fall Creek Falls unfortunately. I will get to it eventually plus a few others.
