What the deal with Baumhower...

Why are we obsessed with Miami's obsession with CNS?

We tell Miami fans to shut up and get over it.

Yet some of us are still ticked with Fran...

I feel like I'm in high school.

I agree, Dartigan, mainly because there's nothing gained by wasting time thinking about any of it. There will always be those who believe things should have been done differently in any awkward situation. And no one will completely agree on it, so we might as well move on...

Baumhower was a fool to go on that show. But, once there he could have shut down LeBatard with simple, I have no comment about Shula's firing or Coach Saban's hiring . Instead he chose to humor the host and came off sounding like Coach Saban was forced down his throat. Personally, I hope they never sign another contract to host any Bama event at his restaurants.

Roll Tide

Finebaum didn't play the whole interview. Baumhower was on WJOX today, and they played the portions of the interview where Baumhower said very good things about Coach Saban. As for the issue of Saban appearing at the restaurant because of a contract issue, Baumhower said that is a good thing. He said he is proud to have a deal in place where the Alabama head coach, whoever it may be, appears in his restaurant.

This is what you call a "no-win" situation for Bob Baumhower. If he goes on the show and claims his love for the Dolphins, he almost has to simultaneously express dislike for Coach Saban. Now, he can say that he didn't like the way it was handled and that he wished Coach Saban much luck at Alabama. But people in the media want to hear something else. Something more controversial/juicy.

So, Finebaum pokes at it, and gets a thread started over here on Tidefans. And thus, Baumhower may have screwed his business in the ground, which it had one foot planted in anyway, with some kind of "slight" against CNS and Alabama.

Only the simpletons will stop eating at Baumhowers due to this controversy, not because of the poor service or marginal food. But we live in a world where simpletons hold public office, so, touche`.

I haven't been there in a couple years, but the Wings at Wildwood had some pretty darn good wings last time I was there (not dry at all, plenty of wet sauce like I like it)

Nowadays, I go to the Patton Creek location sometimes (more convenient for me since I moved), but service has been a bit slow the last couple times I was there.

But then again, everything at Patton Creek seems slammed during evening hours. Last Friday night, rain was coming down in sheets and the parking lot at the theatre was still packed and there was a line at the ticket window.

I think like most Bama fans, I'm for whomever our current coach is. We all get excited and welcome them with open arms-until they wear out their welcome and its time to part company. Frankly, I don't care what the Miami family, Don Shula, Bob Baumhower, or the Miami media says about CNS. I am feeling some real man love for him right now!

I wouldn't worry about it. Who knows what Baumhower ACTUALLY said and how much of the interview was "creative license" of the production staff of the station. I wouldn't expect them to be very objective or very ethical judging from their past actions.

The guy is like a 15 year old girl that has been dumped. He's not going to go on with his life. He apparenly had much more than a man-crush on Saban and you know that there's nothing as hateful as a woman or an effeminate French reporter scorned.

The cfb season just started, we did well in our first game, the Barn didn't play well, we're blowing the Barn out in verbal commitments, etc., and yet somehow people like to discuss how PF is in a disagreement with Baumhower (and/or other radio hosts on WJOX). I could care less if PF, Baumhower, Jay Barker, Mike Shula, and Don Shula went over the Orange Bowl and started going at each other with submachine guns. It's football season people...this has nothing to do with our team.

Finebaum just likes to cause controversy to boost his ratings. He likes to stir the pot. I don't consider him a friend of Bama football. As a matter of fact, I would not turn my back on Paul Finebaum. I took my daughter and 2 nephews to the Bama Game Saturday. We had a great time. We also ate at Wing's in Tuscaloosa. The service was great. We were seated in a timely manner. We received our food quickly. The wings were great. In addition, the BLT sandwich is one ot the best around. My nephews love the hamburgers. But, our favorite is the chip, cheese, and salsa appetizer platter. The Bama atmosphere is great. It is also fun to eat with other Bama fans.

I give up. This is too silly for me. Don't like wings anyway. But if Bob can come up with a decent plate of liver and onions (with bacon) I'll drop in occasionally.

Did somebody say liver and onions? Where??????? Did you know that Longhorns Steakhouse has all you can eat Liver & Onions? Not on the menu but all you have to do is order them. Had my weekly fill yesterday - L&O with fries and Coke- $7.43 WHOOOOEEEEEEE - good

Bob Baumhower won a Super Bowl under Don Shula during the great years at Miami. I'm sure there is a major loyalty factor there for Daddy Don ... as well as his offspring.

I really couldn't care less .. as long as those wings stay fat, crispy, hot and greasy!! :ROCKER:

No he didn't Baumhower did not enter the NFL until 1977. Don Shula won and the Dolphins won their last Super Bowl in 1974 Super Bowl VIII.

He also played for CPB. I would think he would have nothing negative to say about UA.

The Wings at Wildwood has definitely gotten worse the past few years...but then again so has everything in that entire shopping center. I wont even go to that Walmart anymore. So this makes not going to Wings even easier.

Bob is in a tough spot. But he could definitely handle it better than he has.
Yep , I agree that he is . It's too bad he chose to create it .

When you own a resturant in TitleTown , you should at least think twice before tossing your hat into the ring in support of a deceased regime . Very surprising and terribly poor judgement on his part .
