Question: What's The Loudest Single Crowd Roar You've Ever Heard At A Bama Game?

2005 UF game for sure. OU game, Rocky Block, Matt C's game winning catch against Arky, 2007 LSU return by Javy, and Julio's run against LSU (that one is under-rated) are all top notch though. I went insane when Mark took the pass to the 3 yard line of the Gators last year...heck, the entire stadium was loud on UF's first possession when our Defense owned them.

The Oklahoma game at Bryant-Denny, towards the end of the game we had them stopped on defense, then I think they ran a successful fake punt or f/g try, I can't remember which but the stadium was absolutely rocking on the defensive stand prior to the fake.

Fake punt. And it hurt like hell. I turned to my buddy and said, "And that's why their coach makes $4 million"

I agree with you though, right before this fake punt was the loudest I have heard the stadium. I was a student for 3 seasons, '05, '06, '07.

2002 when Charlie Peprah stole the bobbled pass from Fred Gibson and returned it for a touchdown to give us a late lead again Georgia. Bryant-Denny shook like an earthquake was splitting it in two.

I absolutely love truly loud games. You know that feeling you get when you're in a crowd of 90,000 people yelling as loudly as they can and you can't actually hear anything other than deep, slow vibrations that sound like they're coming from a giant bass speaker inside your own head? That's my idea of heaven.

I'm casting another vote for the '92 SEC Championship game in Birmingham. You could feel the stands vibrate under your feet and it sounded like a bomb went off when Langham made that interception.

The '99 game against Miss St. was electric as well. I remember the atmosphere was just insane and the stadium was rocking. Miss St. had some stupid dance all the players would do on the sideline and Bama fans were mocking it in the stands by the end of the game.

My sister was at Bama vs. UF in 2005 and she tells me that's the loudest game she's ever been to.

Barker to Malone for 6 from mid-field with about 10 minutes remaing in the '94 GA game .

I was 10 years old at that game with my dad. I still remember it. Still one of the most exciting games I've seen in my life.

I did not get to see Rocky Block live because I had to work but I found a TV and if my reaction was anything like the BDS faithful I imagine it was epic.

'93 UT game in B'ham....David Palmer's 2 point conversion to tie UT....LF went nuts

'94 UGA game in BDS....another Barker led 4th Q comeback was amazing. I remember the student section started raining cups everywhere.

I did not attend the '94 Alabama/Georgia game. I watched it on tv and it remains one of my all-time favorite Alabama games. I never understood why Daniel Moore did not do a print of that game. It was a classic!

2009 UA-UT was certainly the most drastic dead silent > ear splitting I've experienced. The 2008 Iron Bowl's RJYH was probably the loudest (and longest) cheer I've ever heard, right up there with UA-UT and UA-UF in 05.

I have to agree with those that say the 2005 UF game was the loudest overall.

But the loudest single moment I've heard was when I was in the MDB and we did the pre-game show at the 93 Sugar Bowl... After we hit the first two notes of "Yea! Alabama" I not only couldn't hear anything but the crowd for the rest of the show.

I would have to say 2005 UF game the whole game, but especially when Prothro scored on the opening play
2002 UGA when Peprah scored
2005 UT rocky stop
I'll also say the loudest I heard Legion Field was in 1996 against Auburn when Riddle scored with 23 seconds left to win the game.

You want old, I'll give you prehistoric:

Two from the 1973 season:

Legion Field: Wilbur Jackson's 80-yard run to clinch a great, great Tennessee game. Passion, relief and shock at an astounding play that seemed to go on forever.

Bryant-Denny (when it was still Denny, I think): Willie Shelby's 45-yard run that set up the winning touchdown against Georgia. In my four years at school, that was the very closest we came to losing at home (Forgive me, if I skip over a couple of fourth-quarter punts from 1972). With about 3 minutes to go, we got the ball back, and Gary Rutledge completed a pass and Willie broke it. Terrific moment. Deafening reaction.

Had to add this... it wasn't a "crowd roar" per se, but THIS was the loudest moment I can remember in BDS...

RockyStop is the loudest game I recall, though RockyBlock had to have the greatest dynamic range I've ever heard on TV - at the snap, it got really quiet, then absolutely exploded when TC blocked the kick.

I was there. No. 1 team was on the ropes, on national TV, and the crowd was absolutely nuts. Then, the fake punt. Very next freakin' play was a long bomb for a TD. Dagger in the heart/ air out of the balloon. Sick!
