My guess is the spin would be "freedom of speech". That seems to be the go to for crap like this.

I want to start my own country. Anyone who wants to join will be left the hell alone.
Freedom of speech, yes - until someone reports the truth and then the "right" government officials should shut them down. File it under "real arguments I've heard conservatives make".

This thread is a prime example of why I don’t visit the Politics forum very much anymore.

Opening question is who is the worst Republican candidate for Alabama. FWIW, I say Roy Moore, and he’s lapped the field.....at least twice.

The first 20 - 25 or so posts stayed on point. Then, for reasons I can’t fathom, it changed into a “bash the GOP” thread.

Debate is no longer possible. To even acknowledge that the other side might have some points is to admit weakness in your own position. There is only insult. Or when cornered, the response is, ”Well, at least we don’t.........[fill in your own insult].

I am reminded of the poster who looks down on ideologues. Said he never voted the party, only the candidate. I asked if he’d ever voted for a Republican. He said no.

So he’s not an ideologue. It just so happens that for his entire voting life, every single Democrat was a better candidate than every single Republican. I was dumbstruck.

You are welcome to join my new country. Everyone is welcome and the one person we will put in charge will be the one person that doesn't want to be in charge.

-I’ve voted for both Democrats and Republicans, and have no problem for voting for the candidate that is the least morally bankrupt whether that be a R or a D by the name. I think most are in that group on this thread

- I used to be a Republican, but once they totally Became Party of Christian values and bought into the Tea Party nonsense I was done being a Republican. So I’m stuck mostly in the middle if we are talking strictly about PARTY.

- most Debates end on this board because 95% of the Trumpers won’t accept any empirical facts that goes against their leader and deflect all debates into “ Well the Clinton’s did this”. It rarely is because thread drift goes into a slant towards the GOP or DNC.

- I would argue that good debate actually happens here lately because many Trumpers took a huge gut punch in the Republican- Conservative thread and chose not to come back. Most of the liberal, independents, and real conservatives generally get along.

Tubby has a new radio ad out where he says Trump was sent by God. I haven’t heard it, but read about it on Yellowhammer News on Facebook.

If you want some laughs, check out YN’s page. It is mostly a home from those suffering from Doug Jones Derangement Syndrome. They will post something about him just about every day and there are a hundred comments saying he stole the election and is Schumer and Pelosi’s lapdog.

The consensus of the people there seem to support Tubby and hate Sessions. Not a Sessions fan, but that is enough for me to vote for him in the primary. I do respect him for recusing himself. Yes, legal ethics required him to do so, but not all politicians are that ethical.

The weirdest one is Byrne having a piece against Doug Jones that uses the “squad” members as a reason not to vote for him. Last I checked Doug isn’t that far left and is a Senator.

I've noticed your post doesn't include anything positive about any of the fine GOPers running...just a bunch of criticism over remarks pointing out what a dumpster fire the GOP has become and how dare people point that out in a civil debate?
