Correct me if I'm wrong, and I am sure some will, but wasn't Nick Saban hired to be the Head Football Coach at the University of Alabama? I know that I for one do not recieve a check from the University of Alabama. Some of you on this board must, seeing as how you seem to know more than CNS. Let's all take a deep breath and look back a few years.... 10 to be exact. These numbers may not be completely correct, but just off the top of my head I think it went something like this....4-7, 7-4, 10-3, 3-8...7-5, 10-3,... this guy didn't even get to coach...4-9, 6-6,10-2,6-7. Thats not really setting the world on fire now is it?My point is ( if I really have one) let CNS do what he was hired to do, let the man coach a football team that really needs some serious coaching. Three coaches (one medicore and 2 just not real good) have shown that you can win at Alabama, each had a 10 win season, Just think what CNS can accomplish in time . That's really all he needs. Just look at what he did for LSWHO.

RTR!!! It's hard to understand the crowd that expect instant success in our current situation. We can bring in the talent at UA with excellent facilities, coaching, and tradition. But 18 year olds can hardly be expected to compete with 22-23 yr. olds, especially in the trenches or at LB, taking on the big uglies. Even with the great players we have coming in, the sunshine pumpers need to look at the mod's 2 deep. There is an awful lot of blue (sophomores), so as most reasonable fans expect, we will be competitive this year and next (still too early to expect Atlanta trip since we have many tough road games next year), but in '09 we should be in the stage of reloading talent every year (a la USC, OSU, LSU, and UF) and should definitely be a strong contender for the SECC.

Its not really as if we will be able to put the players in we want to...

Come on, we are all here to discuss (somewhat rationally ;) ) on a message board.

But I agree, Roll Tide.

Very good post. I know i've gotten aggravated with the play at times this year and i'll admit i've done my share of keyboard coaching, but when you look at those records listed above and think of the cluster that some of our previous "leaders" have gotten us into, its gonna take some time to fix this mess. Rome wasn't built in a day, and Bama football isn't gonna be rebuilt in a season, maybe not even in 2 seasons. But we FINALLY have a coach who can and will get this program back to the reloading stage instead of the rebuilding stage. Its just gonna take a while.

As has been mentioned, this is a discussion forum. I felt the same way last year about CMS..........and went on to blindly defend him. Won't ever happen again. Criticism is not necessarily a bad thing. Besides, if you don't like it, you can simply not read it. :)

I am not now nor if I am drafted would be the Head Coach. I am just hear to watch look and listen to what is said.

BUT....If I could be coach for one day, I'll take July 4th and collect my check for the day...hummmm should come to about $10,950.00.

Your are so right.....it's easy for us (as long time BAMA fans) to get impatient with the process, we all need to take a step back and realize there is a plan. Just look where CNS took LSU in 3 short years, and if you don't believe that's where we are heading, just look at some of the recruits already committed to BAMA because of CNS. I want to be the first to apologize if my faith was weak, now that I have taken my Crimson glasses off I just want us to continue in the direction that CNS is taking us (UP)!!! And of course just like CNS and the whole team and coaching staff I would love to win every game (but realize that is probably unrealistic), no matter what happens CNS and BAMA have my full support as a FAN!!!!!!!!
