2008 it was clearly Rashad.

2009 it was clearly Rolando.

Who's it going to be in 2010? My guess is McElroy.

Edit: I realize CNS is the unquestioned leader. I'm thinking more along the lines of what player will be the unquestioned leader. :)

I'm with you on that one. I personally think there will be 2 real leaders. One on each side. McElroy and Hightower.

Greg "cracked ribs" McElroy will be one for sure, but I think Mark will be a great leader as well. When you look back on the BCSNG, we came out not ready to play, and looked pretty bad the first quarter. But Mark was the one who got our offense going and kind of "led us out of the storm." Our offense begins and ends with Mark Ingram and I wouldn't have it any other way.

We lose 7 defensive seniors and HOPEFULLY RO stays but if not we lose 8. But I felt the same coming into 2009 where I thought about losing Andre Smith and Rashad, then thinking "Who is the MCelroy kid?"

Hopefully the same results from similar questions in 2010.

Ro's gone and I think we all know it's in his best interest to leave. I think with more work with his receivers we will see Mac step up and have a much better year statistically. I think he naturally has the demeanor to be a leader. He cool and collected, yet fiery, and definitely tough. Defensively, it's gonna be tough to replace the intellingence of McClain. But he himself said that Hightower has an extremely high football IQ so hopefully he can take that role.

G-Mac on the O with plenty of talent to lead.Defense....maybe Hightower, not sure.I know our younger defensive players have had some great leaders to learn from.

Man, this thread reminds me how much I missed seeing Hightower play this year. If McClain comes back, our LBer core is gonna be scary good (more so than this year).

Ro's gotta go. I'd love to see him back but he has to take his opportunity and run with it.

So pull for Dontaes healthy recovery. He can be just as good or better IMO.

I really wonder if dontae is going to be able to be a leader next season? Has he had enough of a connection with the team for them to really see him as the unquestioned leader? I would like to see marcell dareus step up, but it seems like he may still have some growing up to do...
