I don't know all that is involved but 2 Mikes (Detillier& Scarborough) that I respect, say that he should be let go. Also several other LSU observers whose names I can't remember say the same. In fact, don't know of any who support retaining him. One (think it was Scarborough- not sure though) said that RP was not well liked by most on the team. Some said that he had almost no relationship with his biological father who passed, therefore, that was not a factor in his behavior.
It looks like Miles is testing which way the winds are blowing or trying to wait out the discontent and then announce that RP will be reinstated. He may be allowed to participate in Spring practice. I guess we will see.
It is amusing to see the justification of RP offered in this thread by the LSU faithful, along with assurances that Miles is a disciplinarian. Btw, I don't think Saban is either, he seems to be more of a nagger, i.e., he demands that things be done a certain way, but he sticks with you if you take his "encouragements" and show any disposition towards compliance. Of course, all with limitations. At least part of his motivation is his great respect for those who actually play and coach the game, as opposed to his contempt for those who simply talk/write about it for profit.
He was suspended briefly last season after being asked to leave a nightclub and getting into a shouting match with bouncers. He was not charged with a crime and did not engage in a fight which occurred and so was reinstated. Les dismissed two other players who were charged for vandalism of a car during the incident.
We pay Miles 3.5 million to do one thing. You guys pay Nick to do one thing. Win (and he will).
Ryan offers us the best opportunity to do that relevant to the QB position.
Maybe you misread, but again...I DO NOT disagree with you._lol: You are absolutely right...Jarrett Lee, IMHO, is the best option right now...and I don't think it is a BAD option. Crap, all he's gonna have to do is hand off...and with spring practice coming soon, he should be able to master that.

CLM has credibility?I think if Miles lets him stay on the team he loses a lot of credibility.
CLM has credibility?_lol:
I wasn't including you in that number. It seems so many LSU fans are petrified of losing RP like y'alls season is going to go in the tank. When in all reality you might be better off without him.
Just since he has been at LSU alone, he has a criminal record a mile long, the face he is even still on the roster is nothing short of a miracle.
Really, what is that criminal record? I only know of one crime, a misdemeanor for trying to use a fake id. No other charges in his 3 years at LSU. That's a pretty short mile. I will agree that he has a stupidity record a mile long.
Problem is, will he regret his actions...........or simply regret the penalties of them? If it's the latter, he may never learn.........The only solution to this problem is this. Suspend RP for the spring, bring him back in the fall, let him throw 40 TD's and run for 20, get him the heisman, and pack him off to the NFL.
Of course this wouldn't solve RP's problem, and I fear the only thing that will solve his problem is being held to a higher standard, which I fear he won't be. Kicking him off might hurt both sides now, but it is also the best decision for both sides in the long term in my opinion. It is only when RP does not have the access to the life he leads now that he will regret his immaturity.
boy, yall sure give this lsu bunch a reason to keep posting over in my house, just let it go.
