I would say no, unless DeBoer reached out to Saban. Saban was there for the transition period but now that the season is underway I think Saban is hands off as far as the team. Saban may still have an office but I think any time spent there is very limited. I think he's busy preparing throughout the week for GameDay by watching some film of players and other teams so he can provide insight on Saturdays.

Thank you! If we'd have blown out UGA 56-7 and Vandy 70-3 he could have walked the sidelines in a pink bunny suit with his goose hanging out and these same folks would have gone out and bought a pink bunny suit.

I remember back to his days at the Dolphins. When asked about the Alabama job, he replied he was focused on his job, not what might come next year.
I think that is his M.O. If you are employed, then give that job your undivided attention.
He is empoloyed by the University as a consultant, but his main employers is ESPN now.

It doesnt matter if he's on payroll for Alabama or not, Saban can do whatever he wants to do. He has earned the right to enjoy his life the way he wants to. Saban chose to make himself available to the coaches should they need to speak to him. I know Wommack and Saban speaks weekly and CKD talks to Saban once in a while. So It would make logical sense for Saban to meet the coaches to discuss the losses and make adjustments together. We know what the issue was: Wommack inability to adjust out of the defense formation to match vandy's scheme.

You completely are missing the point or don't know how CNS's mind works. It very much matters to him if he has responsibilities that are tied to a contract. Let me say it again, HE IS THE ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL! Byrne knew this and that is why he wanted to keep him on in some official capacity. Saban has a million and one things that he will completely wrap his time and life in through business ventures and whatnot, but if he has agreed to do something he is going to do it. It isn't about what he has "earned", no one is arguing that point. It is completely about what he is contractually obligated to. That is just how he operates.

It's interesting it states his salary is based off a 40 hr week. But nothing in that article says that he actually works 40 hours. I highly doubt he's on campus more than 10 hrs per week, if that.
