First game I was 9yrs. old it was in Mobile vs LSU we lost think it was like 14-7 I was upset about that for a year. Then my 2nd game was also in Mobile vs MD. WE WON don't remember the score but what little I remember it wasn't that close!

My dad had tickets to all the Mobile games although the next one I remember much about was the one with a new coach! We lost to LSU again and I told my dad hear we go again, why can't the University get a real coach!

That coach happened to be one Paul W. "BEAR" Bryant..... How DUMB did I feel a few years later in '61............

Mid to late 70's was when I started attending games, however the first I remember was at Vandy Stadium. It was hot and I passed out. Everyone in my family wanted to leave because they thought I was sick, but I wouldn't let them because the game wasn't over. Bama won, by the way.

By the way, didn't realize how many "younger" Bama fans we have on here. As someone said, I count myself fortunate to remember some of the great teams of the 70's. I do wish I could have seen some of the teams from the 60's though.

Coach Bryant's first game back. It was a loss, but by God , LSU knew they had been in a dogfight. Talent-wise, it shouldn't have been a contest, but Coach Bryant had those kids playing ALABAMA football and they left it ALL on the field. That game was a classic example of what a difference coaching makes. They went from a 0-40 whipping by allbarn to end the 1957 season, to a hotly contested 3-13 loss to the 1958 national champs in the 1958 opener. To make it even more amazing , LSU had the benefit of a warm-up game the previous week against Rice. You'd never have guessed that BAMA lost the way folks were so optimistic following the game. I think everyone knew that something special was underway in T-Town.

1985 Iron Bowl

In 1985 I was 24 and had never been to a Bama game! A friend, an Auburn fan, called me the day before and said he had an extra ticket and asked if I wanted to go. I was so excited to finally go to one. Holy cow, that was the best game I'd ever seen! Still stands as one of the best, if not THE best.

The next Iron Bowl I went to was the one that Freddie Kitchens led the team down to a TD near the end. Another great game.

My mom and dad took me to the 1977 Tennessee game at Legion Field for my first live game. I was 5 years old.

Not sure of the exact year, but it was Cincinnati at Legion Field the week before the Auburn Game. The main thing I remember was Rammer Jammer being sung twice. Once for the victory and once for "Hey Auburn, We're gonna beat the hell out of you". The first BDS game was against Southern Miss for a Homecoming game. FREEZING cold. We left early to go get warm.

Very gloomy weather that day as was the season in which Bama finished 4-7. The begining of the Dubose era.

2000 (First Bryant-Denny Game)

C. Florida 40
Alabama 38

Another gloomy season in which Alabama finished 3-8. The end of the Dubose era.

My first Bama game was against LSU in 1958. That, of course, was Coach Bryant's first game at Bama. The game was played in Mobile. I had kind of a good year in 1958. I was discharged from the army, married my sweetheart and Coach Bryant returned to Bama! ROLL TIDE

I can't remember the exact year, but I was thirteen or fourteen and we went to see AL v UT in Knoxville. The Tide and Viles were tied at 6 with four seconds left and Phillip Doyle kicked a 47 or 49 yarder as time expired and I swear you could've heard a pin drop in that place! Funny thing was that I still remember that Big AL was setting bottles of OJ on the goal line and kicking them around while the teams warmed up.

BAMABUC the score vs Maryland was 27-7 played in 1952. After the game the Alabama players could be heard screaming "BRING ON MICHIGAN STATE - BRING ON MICHIGAN STATE!" Michigan State won the national championship in 1952. That was also the year of the 61-6 pasting of Syracuse in the Orange Bowl.

First game was Bama vs. Southern Miss in B'ham when Stallings was coach (maybe his first game?). We were beaten by a then little known QB named Farve.

Bama/Ole Miss 2000. Bama coming off a nice W over 4-0 South Carolina had some momentum. Bama blows out Ole Miss 45-7, highlighted by AC Carter's 180+ yard performance. Just awesome. Bama's last W in the 2000 season though. Horrible year.

I remember going to a game at BDS in the middle 70's. Don't remember who we were playing (was probably 6-7) but remember seeing "B-A-M-A" spelled out in the North endzone. Remember going to Legion Field in the early 80's and watching 'Bama beat Curry and the Jackets. I was there for the 315 Game, the kick, there for the 85 game against A & M (the first game I remember ESPN covering), there for the first win against the Irish, there in 90 against the Barn (16-7), watching the Gators beat us in T-Town 16-10, 92 Vandy, 92 Ole Miss, 92 Homecoming, 91 Georgia (first game in over 20 years played at night on the new grass turf, televised by ABC! I can go on and on!

"Let the Games begin"!

Like Pat, I can't remember my 1st (1970 - 4 yrs old). But, the 1st I remember was 1973 Alabama 42 vs UT 21(10/20/73) in Birmingham. Bama went on to finish 11 - 1, National Champions and SEC Champions. Now that was a game!:BigA:
Yes, I was there. 45 yard line, 25 rows up. Pressbox side. Man, that place was a freakin' war zone. I was in the upper deck for the first half with my 10 year old cousin. She faked a stomach ache so we could leave the deck and go sit with her dad. hehe That was indeed a great game.

my first game was Bama at UGA in 1990. We lost a close one...but I'll never forget how it felt to get a peek through one of the openings 40-50 rows up knowing you're at a 'bama game...I was so excited I nearly peed my pants.
