re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Guys, some of you are missing the part about the sign and place. If we have to take that route, we won't use up "a spot" because he won't be able to be here this fall. Instead, it's an investment into next year... or the year after.

You are right I was missing that, now it makes more sense...Thanks BR.

:BigA: RTR!

TR gave Florida a 10 out of 10 for this weekend's visit. He gave Bama an 8. Sigh...!

I read that, too. While I have every confidence in our staff, something about comments like this strikes me as immature. If you are truly committed to a school, why would you give a major recruiting rival those kind of props on a public stage? That's like commenting on another women in front of your girlfriend, and we all know how that ends up....

Read the entire quote before panicking.

"I have been to Bama so many times that there isn't anything new for me to see, so I would give the visit an 8."

He's only been to Florida once before. He rated the visit, not his intentions. You forgot to add the fact that GatorBait asked him point blank if he was still committed to Alabama and he said "yes, sir."

Well, is she's confident in herself, she won't trip ...

Some of this constant concern is really getting over the top. I know folks are entitled to their own opinion but dang.

If I'm not mistaken, another poster also noted in the same article that he is still committed to Bama

Again, the young man is just that ... a young man. he has to ultimately do what's best for him. No need for calling the guy immature just cause he said he enjoyed the UF trip. It is what it is ...

NSD is only a few days away folks, we'll definitely know by then ...

Well, to be clear, I called the comments immature, not him. I guess I just don't see the point of heaping praise on a rival school if you are truly committed. At this level, even as a young person, you should be a little more circumspect.

I like your point of view about women's confidence. I suggest everyone try that line of argument next time they tell their girlfriend that her friend is a Perfect 10. :p_eyes:

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

1. I understand what you're saying, I just take it as enjoying the recruiting process is all. Plus, if a committed recruit came out and says something like, UF sucks, recruits need to come to Alabama, I'm sure that recruit will most likely see the rest of his trips cancelled. WHich in the long run could affect their chances for recruiting for us on these trips

2. Man, all I know is me and my wife do that all the time, she may hear me make a comment about how attractive another woman is and won't trip, basically because she knows it's normal to notice another attractive person AND she also knows I'm married to her. She'll do the same thing when it comes to guys and I don't sweat it on the same course.

I wouldn't do that if it was a friend tho .. that's a whole nother story ... :biggrin2:

But then again, us and UF ain't friends ...

TI spoke to TR after his visit to Florida and he said nothing has changed and he's still committed to Alabama.

Still committed 50-50 like his earlier statements? When asked by Rivals what number he would put on his verbal commitment to Bama, TR said, "I don't know man. I'm just going to wait until Signing Day and let everyone know everything."

I am not sure where you saw him say "50-50" I have never seen him say anything of that nature. I have heard him REPEATEDLY say "I am committed to Alabama and it would take something pretty major to change that." He says he is taking visits just to make sure but we also know that Saban encourages his recruits to take their visits and I am not worried. Until Trent says "I am not committed to Alabama" I believe he signs with us on NSD.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

It's interesting that CNS asked AJM not to take his UT visit - "send the wrong message." Other recruits, like TR, no problem. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, but I'd like to know the criteria...

Earle from what I understand Trent hasn't decided whether to take a visit to UTK or FSU yet. I think it would be a good sign if Trent visits FSU after saying he may visit UT instead then we would know that Nick told him the same thing he's telling A.J. I think those are the only two of our commits that have even thought about visiting Knoxville. But I am not really worried about those two I would rather Pat Patterson and Tana Patrick NOT visit Knoxville and get tainted by Kiffin and his rag tag staff of misfits.

Earle, I think our good Coach's behavior would indicate that heand our staff are pretty confident about where the young man from the panhandle will be reporting for practice next August.

I'm with Airborne Tider, I've head no mention of TR being 50-50. TR was quoted by TI as saying Urban Meyer put the full court press on him this past weekend and told him he's "the missing piece" to their offense.

TR was quoted as saying nothing has changed and he's still comitted to Alabama.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Anymore information on where TR stands on his commitment to Alabama? He has me a little worried. In my opinion, he is one of the best RB's that I have seen in a long time. What concerns me is that we are looking at the Lacey kid at the same time rumors are being spread about the firmness of his commitment/going on other visits. As the title of the thread dictates, I hope it is as an additional and not as a possible replacement on a defector:eek2:

Lacy has been recruited by us the whole time. Richardson is aware of that and he is fine with it. Nothing that Trent has said has suggested he will go any where other than Bama. I, for one, would be shocked if he wound up anywhere else.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Good argument on TiderInsider. USe the link in the other thread. They talk about how CNS has his finger on the pulse of all top recruits.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

First, I'd say that I worry about all the blue chips until NSD is in the rear view mirror. Also, I've said in the past that TR was the recruit most likely to be knocked off path by CLT's antics. I've also said that, if we lose TR, it won't be to UT but probably to UF. Other than that, I can't say, because I don't know where TR's head is right now. I also don't know what Thompson's said to him, and I'm made very uncomfortable by CLT's contacting Mobile-area kids he recruited to Bama. So, it's just going to be worry, worry, worry...

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Based on some post UF visit comments, I'm more worried about TR to UF today than I ever have been.

CUM was full of his "missing piece" comments and I can't say I'd blame any kid for listening to UF right now.

And like I've said before, it doesn't have anything to do with CLT's departure.

NO RTO! You're supposed to be our voice of hope. Oh well. If the kid buys CUM's line of crap then so be it. If he really thinks he is "the missing link" in that offense he is out of his mind. First off Tebow IS that offense, period, and second that offense won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP what are they missing?? Trent's talent will be severely wasted there. He'll end up like Moody. I hope Trent makes the right decision.
