DE Lamichael Fanning Updates

Re: DE Lamichael Fanning taking Official Visit to Barn this weekend

The fact of the matter is Coach Saban feels that Lamichael Fanning needs to be in this class. CNS feels it is best for Fanning to sign with Bama. Whether we understand or agree with it doesn't matter. Besides what I posted, I don't know why a coach would want to recruit a kid destined for JUCO, but CNS wants to.

Hey who am I to say? If CNS wants him, he knows something I don't and I am good with that, then i want him too!

Re: DE Lamichael Fanning taking Official Visit to Barn this weekend

If Bama backed off now knowing he is going JUCO, he will remember it. That action will cost Bama down the road if Bama was to go after him again.

If he signs with Alabama, and they place him in a JUCO, the coach of that JUCO is most likely going to advise him to re-sign with the school that placed him there.

Re: DE Lamichael Fanning taking Official Visit to Barn this weekend

I figure there is a good chance he flips. If he's visiting, considering he's lived in Auburn before, I don't believe for a second he's visiting just for the fun of it. He's going with one potential reason in mind, I imagine.

And honestly, it really doesn't matter much one way or the other if he qualifies or not. As raw as he is as a prospect, it's going to likely be two or three years before he's ever a contributor anyway. In a lot of ways, a stint in JUCO would probably do him some good.

We'll see what happens. I hope the kid makes it whether it's at 'Bama or Auburn, but it's going to be tough. I'm not going to get into the specifics of the circumstances surrounding him, but he's had a tough life the past few years, and that is one of main reasons he is in the situation he is today (academic and otherwise). From what I can tell, though, most of it's not his fault. Hopefully it works out well for him regardless.

I think landing a guy that is going to JUCO is still important b/c look at the impact a JUCO player can have immediately on a team. If you put the imagine in his head that Bama is willing to sign you then he'll more than likely sign again after JUCO

Then again who did Mt. Cody originally sign with? Jesse Williams? Aaron Douglas we know signed and then played at UT. How 'bout Fairley and Newton? Just sayin'.

put a red tag on him & let him go...if it was me when he walked on their campus he would be history.

I am sure that CNS has fully reminded him of the "you shop", "we shop" deal!

Did they sign with CNS? Nope. Jesse Williams didn't sign with anyone. Aaron Douglas left a SEC school, didn't go straight into JUCO just like Newton. Fairley signed with Awbarn and went back to them when he finished JUCO. Mt Cody didn't qualify for the few schools that wanted him so he went straight to JUCO. I think signing someone into your class and sending them to JUCO speaks volumes to having them come back to your campus if they show improvement and do not lose talent while at JUCO. It's a great way to get people into your class that can immediately make an impact

I guess that is proof that he don't read message boards. When he committed to Bama most of the barners were saying he is not that good a player, that he was a thug and they didn't want him.
Bama stuck with him while he had problems in HS so he needs to think about that before making a switch.

im not going to quote the trolls but if youre having a meltdown over this, than the recruiting season is not for you. Just shut your eyes and wait till wednesday is over. its what recruiting is about, if we keep him great if he goes to the barn than thats his problem, take your "we didnt want him anyways" to the espn boards.

Not that I post much on boards other than the baseball board (but I keep up with all Bama sports), but well put TRPC...btw your one of my favorite posters outside of the baseball board!

Here's a crazy question: Could Ole Saint Nick is sending Fanning down to AU to keep Cyrus' head in the right place???.............. Who knows maybe just a wild crazy thought...

Didn't Jesse sign with Hawii out of high school or something? I think he signed with someone before he went JUCO.
