Answer: a Lawyer
100% correct.. I have seen numerous formal and informal letters from various legal departments and investigative personnel using bullet points.

As for the Go Bucks! That one is also easy. Many times when people are caught off guard or nervous about respond to something negative they tend to end their communications in a light hearted way in order to make themselves feel more comfortable with their involvement. However, it could be CJT's normal sign off to emails he receives and done purely out of habit.

The biggest red flag for me is his feigned ignorance, the man has been a HC for 25 YEARS. You'd think a guy would have learned a thing or two after a quarter of a century, wouldn't you?

Yep.. He was definately trying to cover his tail. What businessman or head coach does not know if you have information that is of the legal type, you may want to talk to a lawyer.. Not very brite on his part.

I just read some on one of their boards and the vast majority have this attitude: [Jim Tressel is an honest man of integrity. He really cares about his players. He would not knowingly cheat.] Well, I was kind of suspecting that since they are TOSU.

Here is a quote from an email I got from the king of sanctimony here in my office. Notice the last sentence. This is from a guy who preens on and on about oversigning:

We’ve already chatted this morning so I’ll leave it at that. But, I must point out the erroneous statement below that we waited for Yahoo to do something. We’ve had the NCAA on our campus since January dealing with this issue and we were in the process of putting together the self report. All Yahoo did was make us release earlier than we were ready. If the Yahoo article never came out the self report of the violation still would have.

But yes, a giant mistake/violation occurred, and he deserves to be punished. No argument here. If we are arguing “cleanliness of program” though, I’d still take mine over yours.

Oh man, that's good stuff. Tell him that in 2009, a report showed that since 2000 OSU had 375 NCAA violations, THE MOST OF ANY FBS SCHOOL.

Thats par for the course.
I work in Dayton Ohio, and know first hand that alls schools cheat except tOSU...
they're the cleanest program in the country...
they never oversign...

yada, yada, yada...

at least, thats what they try to sell...

but yet, every time something comes up, they have an excuse to 'excuse' themselves.

Dez Bryant was suspended for 10 games for lying about eating at Deion Sanders' house. How much more should The Vest get being the HEAD COACH of a major university? Reading the emails shows he wasn't concerned for the two players' "safety" at all... He was concerned about covering his hiney...and that's it. There were no requests for 'confidentiality' in the initial email. Dude's a lying liar. He got caught lying. He's upset that he got caught. No apologies for lying. No apologies for breaking rules. The only apology was that he was in "this situation."

Right now a couple of recruits are probably re-thinking their 'Commitments' to OSU.
(Most of them are not on campus yet)[/QUOTE]

And we have a 5* Freshman LB on campus from the state of Ohio that I'm sure he's glad he signed with us!

My guess on this is that Tressle knew good and well that this has been going on for 10 years, and he didn't want to risk that being exposed. I think he made a calculated choice to take his chances with this to keep from having to reveal how long this has been going on.

From what I understand the lawyer is an explayer from OSU. He has also lost his Ohio license for a year.
