LA Gov. Bobby Jindal "We expect to beat them bad & be rude guests"

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Jindal just called a press conference to apologize for the misinterpretation of his comments about being "Rude Guests." CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and NBC are carrying it live to try and undercut any future political moves he may make. Obama will have a rebuttal to his comments shortly thereafter.

Not really? That is too funny.

Come on, REALLY? We are talking about a well educated person here who is a state Govenor:

"He graduated from Brown in 1991 at the age of 20, with honors in both public policy and biology. He was accepted by both Harvard Medical School and Yale Law School, but studied at New College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar."

Anyone implying that he meant anything else but LSU being rude by beating Alabama "in their house" is just grasping at straws. Plus, besides someone trolling google news for stories about this game, no one is paying attention to what Bobby Jindal has to say about this game.

That reminds me of when I became a big Saban fan...it was he was at Miami, when President W asked Saban to have lunch with him, and Saban brushed him off. "No thanks W, I've got better things to do."

It seems to me Jindal is encouraging LSU fans who travel to Tuscaloosa to be "rude guests" when they win. Poor sports, who should rub it in when they win. With that type nonsense coming from their Governor, how poorly will they act up when they don't win?

Does a "rude guest" merely try to be offensive to the hosting crowd, or do they resort to vandalism if they don't get their way?

No, I took it as though he meant that beating Alabama badly would be the act of a rude guest. I seriously doubt that the governor of Lousiana is encouraging travelers from Lousiana to be rude to people in Alabama.

I'm not trying to defend him. I'm just trying to point out we say the same thing. I think when he says "rude guests" he means win the game and make the home team not happy. He's not meaning get hammered and throw beer bottles at Bama fans as they walk down the strip.

Actually, that's exactly what he means. Remember, this is Louisiana we're talking about.

I agree with this. He likely means they won't be timid on the field. As someone who knows Bobby personally, I'm sure he's not the kind of guy who would advocate hooliganism or anything similar.

When an elected official says something stupid and offensive directed at the University of Alabama, it's worth noting he has a track record of saying stupid foolish things.

Edit:

LSU fans don't need encouragement to be complete a****** at football games.:cool2:

We seem to have a surprising number of Bama posters who give the impression they have some kind of a man-crush for the Governor of Louisiana. My apologies if anyone was offended. :)

He was, afterall, directing smack talk at us.
