Re: Landon Collins Story, After the Decision

It's just not very consistent with what other parents of recruits have said about his method. The consistent theme coming from parents who've spoken have said he talks about them getting an education, becoming better people, having the opportunity to play for NC's etc. This is the first I'VE HEARD a parent who's spoken out say anything like this. So I have to go with he may not have said it.
I'm with you on this one, I think I may have heard Saban say this in an interview about recruiting.

Re: Landon Collins Story, After the Decision

Matt Scalici of al.com wrote a blog post about Landon visiting LSU. His source is the BOL article. He doesn't include the Newberg tweet. What is the purpose of a blog post like that?

Re: Landon Collins Story, After the Decision

Nice story but I don't know how much of this I can believe. I'm kinda thinking momma just wanted things her way and needed a "moment" for herself.

Jamie Newburg just sent an update tweet saying LC had in fact visited LSU. He didn't elaborate but it sounds like the courtesy visit story is essentially correct.

Re: Landon Collins Visited LSU ??

Conflicting reports at first because Collins initially denied visiting LSU to a few reporters, but he was in fact in Baton Rouge yesterday visiting with the staff and he has now admitted as much to Jamie Newberg of ESPN. Not the best news for 'Bama, but realistically LSU was never going to stop recruiting him and a late look at them is no real surprise.

The good news is that despite the visit I've still seen nothing indicating Collins would renege on his commitment to 'Bama. As far as I can tell he's still expected to sign with us on NSD, but we just might have to anxiously await by the fax cam on this one.

Admin note: C'mon guys, why are we posting four separate Landon Collins threads?

One more note: I do believe the Bama coaching staff will be having another in-home visit with Collins before NSD, which will help.

I may be a bit gullible here but after the tweets he got from the LSU supporters when he committed during the UA game and the fallout down in Baton Rouge after the January 9th beatdown of the ages, I'd be more than shocked if he switched. Miles is getting bit in the back by the media, on message boards and around the community about that BCSNG.

Stranger things have happened, but after reading the T-P article, he's as solid for Bama as he can be, and has been for a while, and his close friends (and family) know it and all (except Mom) have accepted it. I don't think he flips.

If ti was yesterday that is even better in my mind. Because originally he suppose to be there over the weeken with several other big visitors they had coming in.. The fact he misse the big weekend tells me enough.

Re: Landon Collins Visited LSU ??

not sure why people are still worried about this. there's no reason to be. Baton Rouge isnt very far from home a visit doesnt really mean anything. Hes coming to bama.

Re: ***S Landon Collins commits to Bama II***

What i can't believe is jow landon's mother reacted when he announce where he was going to college. To me, that would've been embarrassing for my mother to not support my decision on NATIONAL TV! Just sayin...
