**Fall Practice Thread**

Yeah, I wonder who we'd see featured in a four-wide set?

If I had to guess now it'd be White, Norwood, C. Jones, and Shinn/Cooper.

Actually, I have no idea beyond White and Norwood!

My guess would be Norwood, Bell, C. Jones & Cooper...totally a guess on my part, no inside info.

Y'all don't forget, Allie posts TONS of links in the daily news sticky at the top of the page. You can get lots of info just by following the links she posts (if'n you don't like having to go find it yourself;) ).

Easier to focus on new season now. We got interviews and pictures of the 2012-13 version of the tide. Like JPT above stated I am getting primed for the new season. The start of fall training camp does that for me. Have watched the NC game many many times and am ready for the excitement the new season brings. Want to see a Saban rant, a Lacy spin move, Barrett Jones calling signals on the line of scrimmage, Norwood over the shoulder catch of another AJ rainbow, a Christian Jones punt return, Trey DePriest cream a running back up the middle, Jesse Williams in face paint daring anybody to try him up the middle, Vinnie Sunseri making a crushing tackle, a Robert Lester interception, etc. Let's go Bama. Roll Tide Roll

The Jack LB position. We've seen how it takes pressure at the LOS to a new level when a first round talent is there.

The DL. A good disruptive defensive line can make up for a lacking secondary far easier than a good disruptive secondary can make up for a lacking defensive line.

WRs. I've always moaned about having the wideouts to get deep but the QB not being physically able to get the ball that far down field ( no need to say I'm bashing GMac, AJ's arm is better, fact). Time for them to put up, or shut up.

Barrett Jone's transition to center. If the other guys that get a chance to play because of his move can max their potential, our "weak link" on the OL is a senior Outland Trophy winner moving to a new position, heh.

HB position. Smelley manned it wonderfully and was a mismatch for most. I wonder how his replacement will fare this year.

Eddie Lacy, you're the man. The spotlight is shining directly on you, here we go.......

I hope the defense is more aggressive like we were in the 2010 Arkansas game. We realized we were having problems in the secondary and just said fine we will blitz so they don't have time to throw. Hopefully the secondary doesn't have as many mental errors as 2010, but if they do I would like to see more blitzes to compensate for that.

The pictures of Landon Collins are pretty impressive.

I think a important factor for Fall camp is having a backup QB ready to go starting with game number 1. Speaking of the DBs, Ha Ha stood out to me in one of the videos as a guy that really filled out his frame with good muscle and is ready to go!

Some impressive specimen showed up, but I must say- transformation wise- Alec Morris got serious this summer. Drake looked bigger and Ragland looked long and lean

From what I've read on the pay sites, Alec Morris getting a lot of love and supposedly looked great in drills last night also--lots of comments about his size and release should be effective against sec pass rushes. I'm thinking he will nail down the no. 2 spot at qb.

Sims will be situational no. 2. In fact, I think if we had an immediate need, he would get the start.

So is he moving back to QB full time or taking reps at both QB and RB or ???

Nick said yesterday when Chase Goodbread asked that BS would be taking reps with both groups.

He may not be ready to go under center against Michigan, but I see Morris eventually getting the no 2 spot before seasons end and if AJ leaves early then a Morris/Bateman qb battle next fall camp. They said Blake looked pretty rusty in his throwing session yesterday but I agree he will probably be used situationally(wildcat maybe?)...

In one of the practice videos from last night I saw Blake limping quite a bit after one of the passing drills. He may have just tweaked something right at that moment I don't know.
