Alabama vs. WKU Postgame Thread

Yes, Fowler's injury did not look good nor did he going out on the cart. Very sad for the young man.

And yes some of the sacks today were AJ holding the ball too long and not just getting rid of it. One sack was a Fluker "look out" block. I don't know that he ever touched the kid. That has to get corrected. One was straight up the middle. We weren't set right or something because BJ suddenly had three players to block. Pretty vanilla on the defensive side.

JMO, but Lacy looks about a step slow. Not sure he's going to get back to 100%. Too many 2-yard carries. They appeared to be stacking the box every time he lined up.

But a 35-0 win is always a positive thing. To be honest, we got that goose egg because they turned it over a couple of times deep in our territory. Hard to say much about the defense with Williams and DM out. Not sure Foster played the whole game either.

This effort would not win next week in Arkansas.

WKU is not a bad team and could win their conference.

Fixed it for you! I hate to say it, but it could be a below .500 season if they aren't careful. Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi State,Texas A&M could all be losses.

Seriously? That wasn't an impressive game but I'll eat my hat if this team goes 5-7.

Wow, we beat a decent WK team 35-0 in a shutout- not great, but decent - and the season has suddenly run off the rails. We lose one (very important) spindle in our offensive wheels and suddenly we're going to have a losing season? WTH?! Get a grip, folks!

The loss of Fowler hurts more than most even know because we haven't seen him utilized fully these first two games. His physical size, catching ability and agility made him a weapon that we would have used a lot this season in different roles. We won't actually know what all we are missing without him this year.

He is irreplaceable and its going to leave a huge hole in our offense. That all said, its still not time to jump off any buildings folks. The staff will go back to work, tweak a few things and have us rolling on all eight cylinderss when we roll into Arkansas.

I saw an Alabama team missing a lot of players, going through the motions, totally lacking enthusiasm, in front of a crowd that sounded like it had better places to be - and you still won 35-0. :eek2:

All those things considered, I am no less impressed with this win than I was with last week's win.

Can't wait to see the showdown with Arkansas next week (after I finish watching my Buckeyes dismantle Cal).

Kelly Johnson looked really good and physical in that UM game.

It hurts losing one of your top handful of players, especially when you designed around his skills. I have a feeling they will try people in his role before changing our offense, or dropping the full backfield all together.

We're definitely a spoiled fanbase. I could see teams from the Dubose, Shula, or even Fran era's losing to this WKU team. No way a team can play lights out every week. Go take a look at what's going on today with USCw. I'm sure they'd love an ugly 35-0 win.
Agreed. I believe what we saw tonight was a combination of Coach Saban not showing to much to Arkansas and players peaking ahead a bit.
Not terribly worried, (other than Fowler's injury. hope its not bad.)

My guess is he was thinking his team needed more work and the third team RB was the perfect guy to have in the game. Sheesh!
I've been quick to criticizing leaving guys in there, but while Folwer is important, he is basically the third string RB. You put him in there to get him playing time...
