Here are the inductees:

Danny Wuerffel of Florida
Ron Dayne of Wisconsin
Tommie Frazier of Nebraska
Miami Heisman winner Vinny Testaverde
Ted Brown of North Carolina State
Tedy Bruschi of Arizona
Jerry Gray of Texas
Steve Meilinger of Kentucky
Orlando Pace of Ohio State
Rod Shoate of Oklahoma
Percy Snow of Michigan State
Don Trull of Baylor

I cannot respect the College Football Hall of Fame or the Football Foundation until Derrick Thomas is inducted. It's a disgrace he isn't already in it.

Re: Derrick Thomas Snubbed Yet Again for College HoF

It took far too long for him to get into the NFL hall of fame.

But this is far more egregious than that. What he did at Alabama was on the level of Barry Sanders at Oklahoma State. 27 sacks in one season is unreal. 52 in his career.

OK, so I believe he and Percy Snow went through college at the same time.

How on earth does Snow get in over D.T.

Can anybody give me a logical explanation? Even if you are a Michigan State die-hard, there is no way these two players were comparable in terms of impact on the game.

This takes on a personal meaning for me. I won't go into details because they really don't matter, but it's complete garbage.

I'm rarely upset or angry at anything at all, but this continues to be an ongoing travesty.

I agree. Complete garbage.

Somebody with the college HOF needs to put on some tape and watch how #55 dominated...... EVERYBODY

I am shocked DT is not already in and stunned he is not included this year ahead of just about everybody being inducted.

The 27 sacks in a season should be regarded as one of those records that will never be broken (Ripken consecutive games started streak, Dimaggio hit streak, Mal Moore National Championship rings, etc......)

Unfortunately it is not even recognized as the record. NCAA was not keeping sack stats at the time and will not recognize it. The NCAA record is 24.

PASS SACKS
Game
6.0—Elvis Dumervil, Louisville vs. Kentucky, Sept. 4, 2005;
Ameer Ismail, Western Mich. vs. Ball St., Oct. 21, 2006
Season
24.0—Terrell Suggs, Arizona St., 2002 (23 solo, 2 assisted
in 14 games)
Season Per Game
1.71—Terrell Suggs, Arizona St., 2002 (24.0 in 14)

Shouldn't matter if it's recognized by the NCAA or not. The voters know what he did, yet continue to spit on his grave.

I'm sure TiderJ was not trying to hijack the thread. And I am certainly not. But the remark by TiderJ that I was replying to had nothing to do with the OP.

Hard to tell tone through written word. My apologies for the implication, TiderJ. I'm sure you're in agreement, I was just trying to say it shouldn't matter (to anyone) what the NCAA recognizes when everyone knows what DT accomplished. Not his fault they weren't keeping records then. :)

No reason for an apology and I am in total agreement. Your comment "spitting on his grave" is so true.

It took the Maryland Racing Commission 39 years to get the Preakness record correct. I don't have much faith in the NCAA getting it right.
