****Bama vs. CSU Postgame Thread****

Maybe it's me or it's just a lot of overreaction, not trashing anyone's opinion at all! Just saying, I think we'll be fine next week, we just need to play a full 60 minute game on offense, which we have yet to play. Also, if there is a season that reminds me of the current it's 2008. Then again, that was then, this is NOW. Next week we'll be a whole different animal.

No I think you are correct. It's the OLine going a step back & the inability to convert 3rd down along with less than 100!yrds rushing.

A lot of folks are forgetting the injuries from last week against TPI but like you I think we will be fine.

AJ looked frustrated. The tone of his answers makes me believe he is not happy with the attitude/effort of his teammates. Afraid we have some players who care more about their stats and draft status than they do winning games.

Hopefully they have a come to Jesus meeting or this is a 3 loss team at best.

which three teams do you think could beat us?

I was not pleased with last night's performance and I've got some worry as we go into the Ole Miss game, but we were experimenting all night on the defense. The offensive didn't look good at all but the playcalling was so terrible I have to assume it was by design or Coach Saban is a dingaling for letting it go on that long. Just like with Va Tech, this was a "teaching" experience for the players, but it sure was boring and worrisome for fans...

Silly question. I don't think there's anyone (else) here who doesn't know of the history of SEC games. One team thinks the win is theirs by entitlement, and the other team comes ready to play, and is hungry for a win. It wouldn't be the first time that such a combination resulted in a surprising upset. It's happened more than once, even to the Tide, even in BDS.

Congrats on your win - I fell asleep before it ended but saw you were pulling away in the 4th.

I wouldn't worry about it - hangover from the bye week plus A&M.

You won with no injuries....and that's the important thing (IMHO). :)

Overall, I agree, but in the quote above did you mean AJ And Drake? I don't recall seeing AJ and TJ being on different pages.

I thought Yeldon had one of those in the 2nd half, as well as Drake. More surprised about TJ, given his experience.

we had close (or games that should have been "less close") games against crappy teams where our team just didn't play very inspiring in every year 2008-2013, in some of those years, we've had more than one. we had 5-6 starters out, a very emotional game last week, and played a flat game. we also have a ton of young players getting game experience that will pay off in spades later in the year, and we have quite a few players really stepping up their games this year (drake, collins, sunseri, christion jones, oj, white, etc.). im not worried about dropping games to other than ole miss (i think we beat them convincingly) and lsu (have not seen them play this year, so have no clue). to go around thinking that all of a sudden we are going to drop three more games with our remaining schedule is not just standing on the ledge, it's stepping off. ;)

Looking over the last three games and our performances, it looks to me like we're playing with one eye on the scoreboard. IOW, instead of going out and playing like it's 0-0 and giving your best effort every play, it seems they put forth just enough effort to stay a couple scores ahead. Look at how we turned it on against aTm when we found ourselves down by 14 early in the first qtr. That type play could be a reflection of some of the younger, inexperienced players causing the team as a whole to have trouble to "gel" together during a game.

I'm concerned about next week, not because of our performance last night, but because ole sis has looked to be a solid well coached team this year. I have no doubts CNS will have us well prepared going into next week.

Once again Bama played just good enough to win and not show their hand to the rest of the teams on the schedule. They were flat but still won by more than three touchdowns with the oponent failing to score a touchdown. I have to think the intensity level will be back next week against the Rebel Black Bears. The lack of third down conversions was the only glaring stat from last night that seriously has me worried going forward. If we go three and out against Ole Miss or LSU, it can get very ugly very quickly.

I think the third down stats a whole lot to do with missing our 2 best receivers. Norwood and Cooper are not only playmakers, but just being out there out opens it up for other the receivers.

If Steen, Norwood, and Cooper were playing and we struggled like that, I'd be much more worried.

People keep talking about chemistry, and I agree it was lacking, but its tough to have good chemistry when you are a missing nearly a third of your offensive starters.

I for one am glad Alabama does not use games like this to inflate their stats. I think the offense was a bit stagnant but I believe it had more to do with the game plan than execution. Bama had this team beat since they scheduled them and went out and worked on things versus just blowing up the scoreboard. I am not saying they intentionally failed to convert all those third downs but I refuse to believe AJ could not find an open receiver beyond the yard marker. I think this was about planning what we are going to do against a LSU team on third and 8 when we will not have time to get down the field, I think it was more about how to get the O line down the field but more importantly practice for the receivers to get on their blocks. I also think a major bonus in all this is CJM provided Bama with an excellent self scout. If anyone knows where to hit the D it is him and I think his game plan against us will go a long way to help the D in the long run.
Do you think that AJ is trying to lose the Heisman on purpose? You play like you practice. If this was a "practice" game, there might be problems in the future. Can't wait to see what this bunch does next week.

I think we'll be ok, and not seeing all doom and gloom. I have thought all three games that we probably won't win the west and definitely not the BCSNC but we will have a good team that in past years would have been happy with. I guess I'm spoiled.

AJ was never going to win the Heisman unless Boyd, Bridgewater, Manziel and Mariotta all threw up all over themselves.
