Just now on Sports Center Mort said Texas would make CNS a hefty offer, and that Jim Harbaugh has emerged as the NFL coach they want. Also scrolling Finebum is saying Bama has extended a "offer of commitment" guaranteeing CNS is the highest paid college coach in the country (which he already is..so that's a bit confussing) and that no contract or deal has been offered. (which also is odd)

Factor in the fact that CNS has reached an age where mortality starts staring you in the face each day. Maybe it isn't about money at all but how he sees his life playing out now that he has taken a program to a place that may have even exceeded his own expectations.

I think that they are going to wait to see what they pay the next Texas coach....after all he should be the highest paid coach in football. I think he stays and was never considering moving.. I take him and ms terry at their word. This whole affair has left me thinking---all good things come to an end- when he does leave he will leave us in major good shape for many years to come. I'm 43 years old and Alabama has always been great my whole life! NCAA and scandal are the only things that can hurt us. I wonder how many NC Bama has the next 20 years.. Saban is also a very smart and demanding businessman....I'm sure he fully expects Sexton to be the best at what he does so this is all about sealing the deal for his last gig. Vandy coach to texas my call. RTR!

I'm not surprised one bit. I have recently relocated to Texas and I can say I thought *u fans were bad. This bunch is a piece of work.

May be but if he leaves it would only be for the money....How much money does one person need.

Not disagreeing w you, Tidetwin, however, something tells me that - as is the case w members of the media - if mortality is staring CNS in the face, then CNS is sure to stare it down, and mortality will blink first... ;)

Thanks - Even more reason for folks to calm down until this is settled. Some people seem to really have lost faith in Saban. That is a shame.

I meant last Friday - last Monday; if that is what you mean, then my next observation would be to say he hasn't had time to even look at a contract (one was supposedly on his desk last Friday), much less sign one. I am sure glad he doesn't bother to read stuff like what's going around, he'd probably retire tomorrow....

Truth is, we REALLY don't know exactly what has transpired. We've heard about contracts sitting on desks for days, $100 million over 10 years offered by Texas and all kinds of garbage.

My feeling is, they've got an awful lot of big blow-hard liars out in Texas, and everyone who ever thought they had anything to do with UT has a big fat story to tell and want everyone to think they're in the know. I've never seen anything like it. When this is all over, even if he stays at Bama, I'll STILL have new reasons to hate Texas.
