Don't take it personally. By the time we get to 900 posts, we've praised and hated on everything from the oil industry to the Latin language, NYBF, and many other things. I'm surprised we haven't discussed the distributions of Little Debbie products relative to Tuscaloosa and Austin.Wow, so now we are bashing the entire state of Texas. I am not a native Texan but lived here long enough to know, its a good place to live! Low cost of living, affordable housing, NO state income tax, excellent school districts and JOBS.
I have a niece in Bandera. If I go visit her, I'll jog over to Austin...

Be careful what you ask for.
McKee Foods Corporation (makes Little Debbie) has a plant in Chattanooga. Much closer than anything in Austin. That seals the deal...he's staying! You may now close this thread.

The question isn't necessarily how close he is to the distributor, but how does McKee distribute? How prevalent are Little Debbies in food stores in Tuscaloosa vs. Austin?McKee Foods Corporation (makes Little Debbie) has a plant in Chattanooga. Much closer than anything in Austin. It's actually in Ooltewah, NE of Chattanooga. Although there are products which are worse (Twinkies), the nutrition on those things aren't pretty, about a third of the calories from fat and not good fats at that. A close relative of mine had a position of high responsibility there for many years. He warned me never to eat anything coming out of that plant. Of course, he was highly selective about food, being an Adventist (as are the owners of that plant).McKee Foods Corporation (makes Little Debbie) has a plant in Chattanooga. A caller into Finebaum just said something I've not read or heard. This guy's friend owns a car dealership in Tuscaloosa. He said his friend told him Saban is going to open a Mercedes dealership between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Finebaum said he had someone tell him the same.

LOL! My relative was in charge of keeping the machines repaired and running...I once met a guy who told me his job title was food engineer at little debbie in TN. I asked what he did, and he said his job more or less was to figure out how to sell the consumer less product at the same price.
Now that is strange.

Now, if they are unavailable in both places and they need to be ordered online, and thus shipped from the distributor, then maybe shipping time is a great factor.
